CHAPTER 8

• The man pushed me down.
• "What do you want?" I said. But the man smiled….I was scared to death. That was not good. I tried to stand up but he dragged my legs back and pulled me to himself.
• "Let me go…..help……..help …… please…… somebody…… help me." I cried but he slapped me and punched my stomach….I cried in pain.
• "Stupid girl." he whispered.
• "Please…… please, don’t hurt me…… please, I didn’t do anything wrong……I swear…… please sir……" I cried as I dragged my painful body to the floor trying to get away from him.
• "Shut up….." He said and grabbed me….his rough hands hurt my skin as I struggled to break free.
• "Let me go…..let me go….." I yelled. But he put a dirty rag on my nose and mouth as I dozed off. I felt him carry me on his shoulders……I felt helpless…..no one would come for me……maybe this was my end.
• Leon called his assistant.
• "Release my special force and find the girl, I have sent you her pictures." He said.
• "But sir, we can’t……."
• "Just do as I say and make sure you find her in 15 minutes, if you don’t want to lose your head." Leon yelled.
• ‘Gem, please be safe…..hang in there …. I'm coming’ he thought.
• Leon drove to carry Kelvin.
• "Dude, what’s the fuzz all about?" He said.
• "Gem, she’s missing I can’t find her and……."
• "I know but why did you release your special force….. you only send them for people you care about……and…….hold on…..bro, don’t tell me you’ve started liking that girl?" Kelvin said and Leon stepped on the accelerator causing poor Kelvin who was not wearing his seat belt to crash his nose on the glass.
• Leon felt uneasy inside.
• "Wait….. it's true?! you’re having feelings for her?!" he yelled again.
• "No…..no way….I….I just pity her…..she is not even my type." He said and even after saying that he felt uneasy.
• Then his phone rang.
• "Hello….I’ll be there."
• "What?" Kev asked.
• "They found her….let’s go." He said and did a U-turn, Kelvin hit his head over and over again.
• Leon’s car drove at full speed. Kelvin thought about his friend's weird behavior…..he knew something was off……it was either he liked her and he doesn’t notice or he liked her and he was afraid to let it show.
• They got to an abandoned car wash. Leon sprung out of his car.
• "Sir…." The man bowed to Leon.
• "where is she?" He asked.
• "In the car…your doctor is examining her…..she has a lot of injuries on her body. They are just minor injuries but she’s in a deep sleep." He said and Leon frowned and ran to the car. His doctor was treating her wounds. Her fair smooth body was now covered with injuries and some parts were red. Seeing her like that made Leon's heart hurt. He sighed as he looks sad, angry, and felt guilty. Kelvin studied his friend…this is unlike him…..there is only in thing here……he’s starting to like Gem….and he won’t let that happen. His cousin was Leon’s fiancée and even though she was far away, he wouldn’t let another girl steal Leon away from her.
• Leon sat in the car and put her head on his legs.
• "She was drugged….it’s a pain killer drug, which will help you not feel anything even when you’re dying….but don’t worry she’ll wake up in a few days." the doctor said.
• "I don’t want scars on her body…..treat her well." Leon said and stroked her hair. The doctor nodded.
• On the second day, Leon was at his office when he received a call.
• "What? she’s awake? I'm on my way." He said.
• Leon got home in record time.
• When he entered Gem's room, he stood by the door as they stared at each other.
• Tears gathered inside my eyes and I felt relief to see Leon. I felt safe.
• "Don’t just stand there…come here." I said but he didn’t move. His gaze was soft, worried, and full of guilt. "Come here….." I said and he walked slowly toward me. I raised myself and hugged his neck.
• "What took you so long….. I thought you said you’d protect me….why didn’t you come immediately when I called your name…..Leon, I was so scared…..I thought you wouldn’t come……I thought you said you won’t let harm come my way…..you promised…..but why were you late….I was so scared……I thought I’d die." I cried and Leon stroked my back.
• "Yes….it’s all my fault….I'm sorry….I'm here now and I'm never going anywhere…. You’re here in my arms." He said.
• I cried for a while before letting go of his neck.
• "Feeling better?" He asked still stroking my back.
• "My body aches me…it hurts." I said.
• "It’s okay……Gem….did you see his face?" He asked…..Leon knew it was too early to ask…I should rest first but he couldn’t bring himself to relax and do nothing…when someone hurt his kitten.
• Try to remember the face, I shivered in fear.
• "It’s too scary, I don’t want to remember." I said shaking my head.
• "Kitten….I have to catch him….and kill him with my hands for hurting you….I won’t forgive him…. Please tell me." He said.
• "Ok…..ok …..he…he has a scar on the left side of his mouth…..he….he was very strong…his face was so scary and….and……Leon, I can’t." I cried.
• "It’s okay, you’ve said enough….rest now." He was about to leave but I held his sleeve.
• "Don’t go…..stay please." I said and he lay down close to me and smiled stroking my cheeks.
• After seeing that she have gone to sleep, Leon slid off the bed and called his assistant.
• "You guessed right…he is the man…. Capture him…..alive….and….." Just then, Gem was having a nightmare.
• "Uhmm no… please….Leon help me….no Leon……" He ran and held her hands.
• "It’s okay, I'm here……I’ll protect you." he whispered and kissed her forehead. Whoever you are, you dare hurt my kitten, I’ll surely make you pay.
