• The evening sky was painted with hues of orange and pink as Edward’s car rolled up to Williams’s mansion. The massive estate stood ahead, guarded by a team of serious-looking bodyguards. I sat in the passenger seat, my heart pounding with anger and frustration. Edward glanced at me briefly before shutting off the engine.
• We stepped out of the car, the chill of the evening air biting at my skin. The bodyguards, stationed like sentinels, eyed us with suspicion. Edward took the lead, but I pushed past him, stepping directly in front of the guards. “I need to see Williams,” I said, my voice firm. “It’s important.”
