• It was an anxious drive to the safe house. With her hands firmly clutching her lap, Naomi sat next to me. Her quiet was more audible than any words she could have said. She was not to blame. Marcus had found more than a breadcrumb of a lead. It was a damn slump, threatening to bury everything we thought we knew.
