Chapter 69 Catching The Thief

• Alora and Hanson stood near the back door, silently watching as the last guests trickled out of the grand hall. First, Old Lady Steele’s convoy departed, carrying her and the top members of the Steele family away after they had exchanged pleasantries with the distinguished dignitaries.
• One by one, the dignitaries followed, their elegant carriages rolling into the distance. Soon, the rest of the guests began leaving, their chatter fading into the cool evening air.
• Carol, Todd, and Molitta were among the last to exit. As they passed Alora and Hanson on their way to the car, they barely spared them a glance, let alone an offer to ride home together—even though they were all heading in the same direction.
