Chapter 35 The Offer
- LEX'S POV
- Olivia and the boy were in the garden again. I watched from the upstairs window, holding a glass of scotch. The garden looked beautiful in the evening light, with roses standing still while Toni's laughter rang out like bells in a storm. That sound made me feel uneasy.
- Toni ran after a paper plane that Olivia threw, moving his arms and legs in a funny but determined way. She sat on the grass, acting cheerful, but I could tell she was pretending. Her hand was on her belly as she laughed with him, but she kept glancing at the house, knowing I was watching.
