The Billionaire Alpha's Fated Foe

Genuinely Curious

Last update: 1970-01-01

Chapter 1

  • Absurd offer
  • Evelyn’s P.O.V.
  • “Are you interested in sleeping with a man for one million dollars?”
  • A beautiful girl in a tight red gown was standing beside me confidently, her ocean blue eyes had a hint of curiosity in them. That beauty casually circled me, observing my body keenly.
  • “You are a virgin. I am giving you a good deal.”
  • The hint of amusement in her tone set me on fire, I screamed uncontrollably.
  • “Are you out of your mind? What kind of question is this?”
  • My query in response made her chuckle, she clicked her tongue.
  • “I am a business lady, offering you a profitable deal. Don’t you wish to earn money?”
  • After working as a secretary in the business sector, I was certain of the fact that no business executive would offer such a proposal to anyone. And we were in the public bathroom, right next to an energetic motorbike’s racing arena. Was she nuts?
  • I was indeed a virgin, saving myself for my boyfriend. We had promised to consummate our relationship on our wedding night. But having tons of money didn’t mean that one could brazenly ask me to sell my body. I had enough self-respect to earn the money I needed.
  • My firm resolve burst her into a fit of melodious, she flicked her hair and said,
  • “Call me when you are ready. I need a virgin as soon as possible.”
  • She slipped her visiting card into my jeans pocket and walked out of the bathroom, sashaying her hips. I hardly suppressed the urge to kick her perfectly round ass and cursed inwardly.
  • “I will never see you again. Go to hell!”
  • Breathing heavily, I was about to throw that card away when my cell phone rang, diverting my attention. My boss’s number flashing on the screen dried the blood coursing through my veins.
  • Shoot!
  • I picked the call and ran outside, apologizing sincerely. My twenty-minute bathroom break was bound to get a furious reaction from my boss as he scolded me.
  • “Is this my duty to remind you of your work, Evelyn? Where are you?”
  • Within minutes, I reached the racer’s locker room and faced my pissed off boss. President Zuriel Scott showed me his watch and said.
  • “This is an ancient device called a wristwatch. You need to have one if you wish to continue working in Scott’s industries.”
  • He compared me with his efficient manager, Mr. Bruce, lecturing me on the topic of the importance of time. I was praying in my heart for a miracle when an announcement saved me like the unsung hero.
  • “The race is about to start. Please take your spots, participants.”
  • This help from heaven ended the lecture and I dealt with the paperwork of the race. Joining the audience to cheer for my boss was also a part of my responsibilities. President Scott was a cold and commanding CEO, one of the youngest businessmen in the community. Motorbike racing was his hobby no one was aware of.
  • People in his game circle knew him of the name “Silver Moon”, as he ruled the racing arena with his matchless talent every time. Tonight’s result was going to be the same as usual.
  • After the gunshot, all eyes were glued on the superfast bikes, competing against each other in a nail-biting race. They clapped and cheered for their favorite contestant. But my boss didn’t let anyone cross him.
  • President Scott won the competition with the difference of some seconds, asserting his dominance over the racers. The crowd went crazy as the host announced.
  • “Silver Moon. First
  • Crimson Warrior. Second
  • Knight Rider. Third”
  • The news of my boss’s victory relieved my worry, giving me the hope that my boss wouldn’t deduct my overtime payment because of an earlier mistake. I was organizing the file work for the prize money when he met me outside the venue’s building.
  • “Is it done?”
  • President Scott’s frosty voice sent shivers down my spine. I stuttered, “I-It’s almost done, President.”
  • “Oh, come on, Zuriel. Why are you scaring her?” My boss’s best friend, Mr. Aaron appeared before my sight all of a sudden. He spoke in a meaningful tone.
  • “Are you angry that your secretary doesn’t cheer for you like mine, Zuriel? All you have to do is ask. Evelyn will do everything for you.”
  • My gaze traveled from his toothy smile to the half-naked beauty in his arm. Aaron’s assistant was clung to his chest like his girlfriend.
  • The suggestive wiggle of his brows clenched my stomach, it was really out of my mind that why everyone was addressing me as a bottom lady tonight. And like it wasn’t enough, President Scott questioned me.
  • “Evelyn, would you cheer for me like Aaron’s assistant?”
  • What?
  • I always wondered how President Scott became friends with a playboy like Aaron. But tonight, his query gave me the answer. I gawked at him in disbelief.
  • It was my first job after completing my degree and due to my financial conditions, I needed it badly. My one wrong answer could snatch the only stable way of earning from me.
  • Dreading his reaction, I tried to read my boss’s mind through his expressionless face and spoke hesitantly.
  • “It’s not necessary to wear revealing clothes to show support. I can work hard to serve the Scott industries.”
  • President Scott’s face didn’t change an inch to give me a clue about his reaction. My heart was drumming in my ears as he raised his brow and spoke,
  • “At least, Bruce has hired some sensible workers in the office.”
  • Phew!
  • A heavy weight lifted off my chest as President Scott handed me a white envelope and said. “Although you tried your best to ruin my night, I won’t cut your pay. Work hard!”
  • Five hundred dollars bills in the envelope soared my heart high in the sky, evaporating my worry in thin air. I was putting them in my bag when President Scott glared at his buddy.
  • “Not every girl believes in earning quick bucks, Aaron. Mind it!”
  • Not accepting his defeat, Aaron blamed it all on my boss. His nervous chuckle resounded in my ears.
  • “Silly me! How can I forget that you have hired faithful puppies like you in your company? My bad!”
  • Well, it was a fact that President Scott was deeply in love with his fiancé, who was studying abroad. He never laid his eyes on any other woman after his engagement. His loyalty for his soon-to-be wife was commendable, but it broke many hearts. My devilishly handsome boss was the most eligible bachelor in town.
  • Anyway, I shuddered and came out to look for taxi, swearing to leave this demanding job as soon as I fulfilled my dreams. Working late nights weren’t safe for any girl nowadays.
  • Waiting for the online cab, I was scrolling the posts on the social media when a notification popped on my screen. I gaped to read the message.
  • “Come home, Eve. We are ruined!”
