Chapter 1 Alone And Abandoned

  • Sienna.
  • I drag my feet down the pathway, hoping to get my clothes in, but halfway down and I heard it, the name I detest the most and from the same person whoI had made my life a living hell for the past three years.
  • Three years— that's how long it's been since my family betrayed me and threw me in prison to rot.
  • “Silly ass, come here,” her voice shrilled, it wasn't a statement, it was an order, I still have fresh scars from her last beating, it was Erica who had helped me then.
  • I look up and met her piercing dark eyes, she has girls around her, two massaging her back, one at her feet and the other fanning her.
  • If you want to survive here, then you really have to be in Barb’s good books, a name everyone calls her, run errands and be at her feet.
  • But that's something I had refused to be, I was no pushover, I'd rather suffer like this than slave myself out, and this has increased her hatred of me.
  • I freeze, I didn't think I will bump into her in this route, I have carefully avoided her for the past few months.
  • The big lady, with a scary eye scowled. “I hate to repeat myself silly ass,” she groaned but I don't budge.
  • I stood there, refusing to walk up to them, I was tired of their bullshit, they had bullied me more times than I could remember.
  • But before that thought could linger on, two massive hands grabbed me, dragging me to Barb, who's eyes was blazing with anger.
  • She hates being ignored.
  • They brought me to my knees, making sure I was at her feet.
  • She stood up and yanked me up with force. “You silly little bitch,” She seethes, her voice dripping with venom and then a loud chuckle tore through her throat. “Are you really the heiress of the Miller's family? You look more like a lowly prostitute,” she spit out.
  • I didn't utter a word, I winced at her grip, struggling to break free fom her. But it was meaningless, she was huge and I could barely fight against her.
  • Then the other lady mocked with a smirk in place. “I think she's just a fake princess! Otherwise, why didn't her rich and powerful family come to visit her all these years?”
  • They all laughed so hard.
  • My heart clenched tightly but even as hurtful as their words were, it was the truth, my ugly truth.
  • But I still didn't utter a word.
  • “Cat cut your tongue now?” Barb sneered and I could tell she was having a field day with my misery.
  • I wasn't going to open my mouth, but her next move forced a groan out of me, a loud hot slap, twice at my cheeks. I winced in pain, almost seeing stars.
  • She looked irritated and I had always known she hated my guts.
  • I look up to her, then came another slap, and another, till I lost count.
  • She drops me to the ground and I fell, hitting my hand against the hard iron at the side, I must have seen blood oozing out, something I've gotten so used to, but it didn't make it hurt any less.
  • I groaned, tears prickling at the corner of my eyes but I didn't let it fall.
  • I didn't let my weakness show.
  • “Hit her,” I hear Barb tell the tan girl beside her and she moved towards me with furious eyes.
  • I covered my face with my hands as she almost beat me to a pulp.
  • I didn't fight back, I was too tired, I wouldn't win against them anyways.
  • Slaps, kicks were delivered on my body, but never on my face, I protected it.
  • “Stop it!” a male prison guard hollered at them and I hear footsteps scrambling away, they ran off.
  • I was too weak, I groaned on the ground, slowly looking up to see the usually horrified looking guard, giving me a pitiful look at the sight of me in the pool of my own blood.
  • I blanch at that, caught off guard with his intervention, usually the guards just sit idly by while l get bullied over and over again.
  • I had put it down to Damon's anger over me pushing his sister down that large staircase, believing he must've bribed the wardens and inmates to make me suffer so he can avenge his sister.
  • I whimper as he helped me up, letting the tears fall from my eyes.
  • He gives me a sympathetic look as I limped away from him. “You will be released tomorrow, go treat your wounds.”
  • And with that he turned his back and left before I could open my mouth.
  • My breath hitched as l mull over his words.
  • Step by step, I limped back to my room, traces of blood left behind me as I walked.
  • I hear a familiar voice gasp and rushed towards. “Oh my! Barb did this?” Erica seethes, waiting for my confirmation.
  • When I nod, she jerked up to go God knows where and I hold her hand, stopping her.
  • She's always so defensive of me but we end up getting beaten up. But she's street smart and that has saved us more times than I could count.
  • I wave her off with a nod. “Leave it be, Erica.” I mutter. “It's pointless.” I tell her.
  • She gives me a long stare and eventually sits back down.
  • We stayed in silence as she dressed my deep cuts, hearing nothing but my groan and winch at intervals.
  • But the pain l feel is nothing compared to the wedging thoughts in my head.
  • I had heard the prison guard and that's all the more reason why this pain doesn't hurt as much.
  • This is it.
  • My suffering ends here.
  • “Tomorrow, I'm getting out of prison.” a tight knot forms in my stomach as I balled my fist. “But not as the same fragile Sienna who longed for love!”
