Chapter 2 : Sister's Shadow

  • "Sis, I'm back!"
  • These words caught Xiao Muer off guard, and tears immediately welled up in her eyes as she embraced the man in front of her, whom she could no longer recognize.
  • Although she didn't recognize this face, Xiao Muer was certain that this was her long-lost brother whom she hadn't seen for eighteen years!
  • "Xiao Hua, is that you? Is it really you, Hua Hua?"
  • Tears streamed down Xiao Muer's face as she held Xiao Hua's face, examining the long scar on his forehead that resembled a lightning bolt, feeling even more heartbroken.
  • "How did you get this scar? Where have you been all these years? Sister has been searching for you everywhere, thinking she would never see you again. Why did you only come back now? You little brat, do you know how much sister missed you?"
  • Xiao Muer seemed to want to say all the words she hadn't said in eighteen years at once, leaving Xiao Hua speechless.
  • Helplessly, Xiao Hua could only embrace Xiao Muer and say, "I'm sorry, sis, I came back late."
  • Xiao Muer started crying again and said, "It's not late, it's not late. You're back, and that's all that matters!"
  • The siblings held each other tightly, and once the emotions subsided, Xiao Hua couldn't help but feel awkward.
  • This was his sister after all. Xiao Hua quickly tried to think of something more manly to talk about. Despite being the top assassin, he was still a virgin at twenty-four, and no one believed it when he said it.
  • It wasn't that no one liked him. On the contrary, there were many women who were infatuated with him. But Xiao Hua was either training or killing people, and he really didn't have time to spend with women.
  • Xiao Muer hadn't noticed Xiao Hua's unease yet. Perhaps in her heart, Xiao Hua was still the six-year-old little brother, so there was nothing to be cautious about.
  • "President Xiao!"
  • Suddenly, an employee barged in, saving Xiao Hua from embarrassing himself in front of his sister.
  • "..."
  • Seeing the usually aloof President Xiao hugging a man, the female employee forgot what she wanted to say for a moment.
  • "What's the matter?"
  • Xiao Muer let go of Xiao Hua, but she didn't explain anything. It wasn't her style.
  • "Oh."
  • The female employee snapped back to reality and hurriedly said, "A few people broke into the company and claimed that you owe them money. They're causing a scene."
  • "Alright, I got it."
  • Xiao Muer asked the female employee to leave and then said to Xiao Hua, "Just sit here for a while. I'll handle some things first."
  • Xiao Muer had always been assertive, so she didn't wait for Xiao Hua's response before leaving.
  • Xiao Hua was no longer the little follower behind his sister. He could protect his sister now, so he followed behind Xiao Muer.
  • Xiao Muer's company was not small, and it was currently in an upward phase. However, it had recently encountered some obstacles due to various restrictions.
  • Arriving at the reception desk, Xiao Muer saw three rough-looking men causing trouble. One of them was sitting on the couch, legs crossed, with a few buttons on his shirt undone, revealing a tiger tattoo on his chest and a large gold chain around his neck.
  • The other two stood on either side of the man, looking like his lackeys.
  • When they saw Xiao Muer, the man with his legs crossed nearly popped his eyes out and swallowed hard.
  • Xiao Muer didn't hide her disgust and said, "I don't seem to know you."
  • The man wiped the saliva from the corner of his mouth and continued to gaze at Xiao Muer, focusing on her chest and thighs.
  • "I may not know you, but I'm here to collect a debt for someone else."
  • Xiao Muer frowned because she had only borrowed money from one person, or rather, that person had voluntarily lent her the money. It was her late husband's younger brother, Du Fei, the second son of the Du family.
  • "Did Du Fei send you?"
  • Xiao Muer couldn't understand. If Du Fei wanted her to repay the money, he could have just told her directly. Why would he send a few thugs to demand payment? Besides, Du Fei knew she didn't have the money now, and they had agreed that she didn't need to repay it immediately.
  • One of the man's lackeys said, "Don't ask who it is. Anyway, you owe someone one million. Do you acknowledge it or not?"
  • "Smack!"
  • The man stood up and slapped his lackey, scolding, "Who gave you the right to speak?"
  • Then, the man rubbed his hands together and looked at Xiao Muer with a lecherous gaze, saying, "President Xiao, I know you're facing difficulties recently. How about this? Have a meal with me, and I'll repay the debt for you. What do you think?"
  • Xiao Muer couldn't understand what Du Fei was up to, so she said, "I'll call Du Fei and clarify this. You can leave now!"
  • The man chuckled and sat back on the couch, asking his lackey to light a cigarette for him. He said, "Let me be honest. It's actually Du Fei who wants to have a meal with you. He said that as long as you have a meal with him, you don't have to repay the debt."
  • Finally, Xiao Muer understood. When she married Du Fei's older brother, Du Fei was studying abroad and had only returned a little over a month ago. At first, Du Fei respected her as his sister-in-law and voluntarily lent her money to help her through a difficult time.
  • At first, Xiao Muer was touched, thinking that they were family after all. But gradually, Du Fei began to imply that she should sleep with him. Xiao Muer pretended not to understand and rejected him time and time again. Unexpectedly, Du Fei couldn't bear it anymore and actually sent people from society to pressure her.
  • "So, what do you say? Can I go back and report to Du Fei?"
  • The man tapped his leg, not waiting for Xiao Muer's answer before saying, "If you ask me, Du Fei is really stingy. With your level of beauty, a mere one million is not worth it. How about this? If you come with me, I'll give you one million every month!"
  • In fact, this guy didn't have that much money at all. He just wanted to trick Xiao Muer into sleeping with him. After all, she was quite attractive, and who knows, it might actually work?
  • Xiao Muer was furious and was about to tell this guy to get lost when Xiao Hua walked out.
  • As soon as they saw Xiao Hua, the three men became somewhat fearful. Xiao Hua had emerged from a sea of corpses and blood, and just one glance from him was enough to make an ordinary person cry.
  • But in the face of a beauty, these three men gathered their courage. However, before they could say anything, Xiao Hua slapped the man sitting down.
  • "You...you..."
  • The two lackeys panicked, and one of them pointed at Xiao Hua, saying, "Kid, you're finished. How dare you hit Black Tiger? Go ask around in Lunan City, who doesn't know Black Tiger?"
  • Xiao Hua didn't want to waste time with these characters. He grabbed the two lackeys and threw them out, then threw the unconscious Black Tiger out as well.
  • "Get lost!"
  • The two thugs didn't dare to stay any longer and ran away with their boss.
  • After scaring off the three thugs, Xiao Hua turned around and put on an innocent smile, saying to Xiao Muer, "Sis, why waste words on these people? Just throw them out."
  • Xiao Muer looked at Xiao Hua and said, "Little brother, that slap just now wasn't light!"
  • She hadn't paid much attention to it in the office because Xiao Hua had slapped a woman. But this time, it was a big man, and he had been knocked out by Xiao Hua's slap. It was a bit frightening.
  • Xiao Hua scratched the back of his head with a smile and whispered in Xiao Muer's ear, "Sis, I've learned a few things outside. Dealing with three to five people is no problem."
  • Xiao Hua couldn't reveal his true identity because he had promised not to seek revenge using his original identity, as it would cause trouble for the country's leaders. Moreover, if his identity was too high, it wouldn't be as natural to interact with his sister. He missed the days when he used to follow his sister around and rely on her for everything.
  • Sure enough, Xiao Muer was still Xiao Muer, with a stern face, she lectured, "Don't go around causing trouble just because you can fight. Even if you can beat ten people, what's the use? Sometimes you still have to endure."
  • Although her words were harsh, they were filled with love. Xiao Muer seemed unaware that Xiao Hua had grown up and still wanted to protect him under her wings.
  • Xiao Hua missed this feeling the most, so he smiled and said, "Okay, I'll listen to my sister. I promise not to cause any trouble."
  • After saying that, Xiao Hua whispered in a voice only he could hear, "As long as no one messes with my sister, I don't care. But anyone who dares to mess with her is as good as dead!"
  • When Xiao Hua said the word "dead," he truly meant it. He already had a few targets in mind that he was determined to eliminate.
  • Just then, Xiao Muer took out her phone and made a call, saying, "Du Fei, can you stop being so childish?"
  • "Sister-in-law, I just wanted to have a meal with you. If you don't agree to that, what can I do?"
  • After thinking for a moment, Xiao Muer said, "Alright, you suggest a place."
