Chapter 24 Taken Away

• As the door to the private room closed once again, the noises within were shut away. At the same time, Mabel felt as though something had been taken away from her.
• What it was, even Mabel herself didn't know. Vaguely, she understood that she was no longer the same as before. Truthfully, she hadn't been the same for a while. What happened that day was merely the lifting of the final veil of pretense.
