Chapter 17 – I Will Do Anything For Your Love

• I walk away from Alpha Maximus to give him some space. One thing I know about pain is sometimes you just need everyone to leave you the hell alone. It is odd feelings someone else’s pain. Alpha Maximus is broken and hiding behind his Alpha mentality, but I can see it, and I can feel it. From everything that I know about Soran and his parents; it seems so odd that they treated Alpha Maximus like he did not belong. I stop walking and turn back to see him. There is only one reason that I can think of that his father and brothers treated him differently. He is the oldest, yet he was sent away to be the Alpha of another pack and given to another man. He came back during the summer until the incident that he knew could harm one of his brothers. He is Soran’s half-brother. It is the only thing I can think of that makes sense in this situation.
• I will not ask him about it. I will not push him. He will tell me everything when the time is right. So why did he feel like he was the one obligated to care for me? He is an Alpha, yet he chooses to be my caretaker. He has a reason for choosing that. There is so much more to this amazing wolf than I know. I return to the house and watch out the window as he shifts and goes for a run. It seems to bring him peace when he runs. The other night when we ran together, we were both at peace. Maybe I should join him.
