• I was busy with embroidery when the bell rang noisily twice. Without being told, I knew the bell was to notify everyone in the Red Moon Pack that it was time for breakfast.
• Luckily, I was allowed to join them for breakfast, unlike when I was with my family in the Dark Clad pack. Each time they went for breakfast, I’d stand behind my stepsister like her handmaiden, watching them eat and giggle while I swallowed an invisible lump and salivated.
