• Cody’s car had already arrived, even though Thea was still sound asleep when it arrived. Even Granny had fallen into a deep slumber. Grace was the only one who got up and began preparing breakfast. Grace smiled a bit awkwardly when she saw Cody after she opened the door, “You’re here, Mr. Bradley. Just come in and take a seat. I’m going to wake up Thea right now.”
• Cody was holding bags of gifts, smiling as he said, “Don’t treat me as a stranger, Grace. Just call me Cody.”
• Grace nodded and took those gifts before she went to Thea’s room to wake her up, “Honey, get up. Cody’s here.”
