Chapter 4
- Lia's POV
- I saw Maximo with a stern face and clenched fists.
- "Hello, future husband. Good morning." I tried to sound as casual as possible.
- "Lia, stop acting stupid!"
- "Tell me, did you have fun with Laura?" He sauntered toward me and pushed me against the wall, making me scream.
- "Stop doing that!"
- "Let me go, you bastard!" I pushed him back, and he was left breathless.
- "Do whatever you want. Laura is waiting for me anyway."
- He left, and it made me furious, so I grabbed a glass and smashed it against the wall.
- "Sonofabitch!"
- I went up to my room and took a bath. Maybe that would help me relax. Soon, I came out and looked for something to wear.
- I grabbed my purse and sent a message to Edward, telling him that I was ready. Shortly after, Edward appeared and greeted me with a kiss on the cheek.
- "You look very beautiful."
- "Thank you. You look very handsome."
- I got into his car, and soon we arrived at the cinema.
- "So, what movie do you want to watch?"
- "I like horror movies."
- "Well, then it will be a horror movie." He smiled.
- After several hours, we left the cinema. The movie was truly terrifying, so much so that I clung to Edward like a tick.
- "Are you really scared?" he asked jokingly.
- "Don't make fun of me, the movie was very scary."
- "Well, let's go eat something and forget about it."
- "Okay, let's go."
- We went to a restaurant and ordered our food.
- "So, how is your marriage going?"
- I felt my stomach churn at Edward's question, thinking about everything that happened with Maximo.
- "Bad, but I have to endure this until the contract ends."
- "Let me tell you, your future husband is an idiot." I felt his hand on mine, caressing it. "How can he not see the wonderful woman he has in front of him?"
- My heart skipped a beat hearing Edward say those words. He had never said anything like that to me before, and it makes me very emotional.
- "Thank you, Ed, I never..." I was interrupted by a voice I knew all too well.
- "Am I interrupting something?" I saw Maximo with a furious expression.
- "What are you doing here, Maximo?" I replied sharply.
- But when he was about to respond, Laura appeared, taking his arm.
- "So, here you are... Oh, hello, Lia."
- She even dared to come and greet me.
- "I want you to leave the house," Maximo ordered.
- "And who the hell do you think you are to order me around?"
- We had a staring challenge, but Edward interrupted us.
- "Darling, let's get out of here."
- "Darling? Stop calling my wife that!" Edward laughed immediately.
- "If she were really your wife, you wouldn't be with another woman." He looked at Laura with disdain.
- "Enough. Let's go, Ed. I'm not staying here." I took his hand, but as I was about to leave, Maximo grabbed my arm.
- "Be careful of what you do."
- And he had the nerve to threaten me. Idiot. I leaned closer to him and whispered in his ear.
- "Just like you enjoy yourself with your whore. I will do the same, my husband." I kissed him on the cheek and left the place, but tears soon started to fall.
- "Baby, don't cry, I hate seeing you like this," Edward said, calming me.
- "It's because he's an idiot!"
- "Do you... Do you feel something for him? "
- That question left me pensive, as I did feel something for him. But I wasn't exactly sure what.
- "I don't know... I don't know what I feel for him." He hugged me, and I returned the embrace.
- "Let's go have a few drinks. We need it."
- "Yes, you're right."
- We went to a bar and talked for hours until it was time to say goodbye. I was very drunk, luckily Edward didn't notice.
- "Well, now I say goodbye. I enjoyed going out with you. I hope we can do it again."
- "Of course, Ed, I would love that."
- I kissed him on the cheek and then entered the house. But I was shocked to see Maximo naked on top of Laura while they were having sex. It was definitely the last straw. I was tired. A tear fell down my cheek, but I didn't bother to wipe it. I clenched the bottle in my hand and, without thinking, I threw it at them.
- "Ahh! What the hell?"
- They both stood up. Maximo's face turned pale when he saw me.
- "Listen to me, Maximo. I want this bitch out of my house right now, because if she doesn't leave, I swear I'm leaving, and we'll see how you manage."
- "What the hell, Maximo..."
- "Laura, take your things and go."
- Laura looked at me as if she wanted to kill me, but I looked at her even worse.
- "Do you think he will stop looking for me because of this? Oh, dear, he always comes back to me."
- She was really getting on my nerves now. I grabbed her by the hair and, ignoring her screams, I threw her out of the house.
- "Bitch!" I closed the door and leaned against it, trying to breathe. But it was useless. I couldn't calm down. I felt so much anger that even my hands were shaking.
- "What the hell is wrong with you? Who gave you the right to come here and do that?"
- I marched toward Maximo and gave him a strong slap.
- "I'm fed up! You have no idea how much I hate you, how much I want to get far away from here, but I can't because of that damn contract."
- "I see you're very clear about it. So, stop messing around now."
- "You're a damn bastard, and believe me, all this that you're doing will soon come back to you. " I went to the kitchen and poured myself a double drink, downing it in one gulp. But I was still so angry that I unintentionally squeezed the glass so hard that it broke in my hand, making my hand bleed from the cuts.
- "Damn it! Just what I needed."
- At that moment, Maximo came running and saw my bleeding hand.
- "What happened?"
- "A glass broke. Let me take care of it."
- " No, let me do it."
- "No! I don't want you to touch me." He sighed and removed his hand.
- "If you need anything, don't hesitate to call me."
- I said nothing and went upstairs to take care of myself. But when I bent down to grab alcohol, I lost my balance and hit myself hard, causing me to lose consciousness.
