Chapter 5

  • CHAPTER FIVE
  • LUCIAN CASTIEL
  • ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • "What do you fucking mean by she's missing!" I barked in a low dangerous tone at the father of the bride I was supposed to be getting married to.
  • We were supposed to be signing the arrangement papers. The Russians had always been taking advantage of the rivalry between both of our families to set their place as the number one supplier of weapons. Quitting the enmity between us and suing for peace and cooperation was the most feasible method of weakening Vladimir Petrov. It seemed to me that Marcus was backing out by giving me the bullshit that his daughter was missing.
  • "She's nowhere to be found! She might have been kidnapped."
  • My eyes narrowed suspiciously at him where he stood with a few of his men, if there was one thing I hated most, it was being deceived.
  • The tension in the air was thick.
  • At any time, guns would be drawn, it would easily turn from peaceful to violent in the space of only a few seconds.
  • My uncle Nicholas stepped forward, placing a hand on my shoulders, he always had been able to tell when I was ready to snap.
  • The nervousness on Marcus's older features was detectable, it was either he was worried that he was not convincing enough or he was actually worried about Gabrielle.
  • My Brie.
  • The latter set my blood boiling in fury, who could be daring enough to abduct her, if it was really true, then I was going to make every one of them pay.
  • "Lucian, we can't fight over this right now, this deal is beneficial to the both of us and I won't sabotage it, we can't waste any time, my daughter could be in even more danger as we speak!"
  • I held his stare, still deciding on whether I could but it or not, if it turned out that he was messing with me, I'll fucking kill him, for now, finding My Brie was the most important.
  • I barked out the orders.
  • She was to be found at all cost.
  • My name is Lucian Castiel, but most people prefer to call me vengeance.
  • There are two kinds of people, those that respected me and the ones who are afraid of me.
  • I took over my father's position as leader of our ring five years ago, It was my obligation to set an example every one of our men had to follow, there was no absolution for any errors, our enemies had to know that I wasn't one to trifle with if my father had been the very devil, I was the spawn of Satan himself. It was my life, and I was very proud of my achievements.
  • The first time I saw Gabrielle, she had been ten years old.
  • Father had always taught that it was necessary to know every detail about your rivals, always keeping a watch on every one of their moves, in that way you would never be taken unaware.
  • The first thing about her that intrigued me was her hair, the way the locks fell past her shoulders in a golden waterfall. Her eyes were the clearest of crystals. In every one of her pictures, she had that innocent smile that showed off dimples. I knew I was infatuated with her, I knew she was mine even then, only I couldn't yet claim her.
  • She may never know how I watched her grow into the beautiful woman she was today.
  • She wasn't one of those cheating whores who were only hungry for a dick and money.
  • And those delicious lips, they were heavenly, I knew she would taste exactly like that, it sure beats all those years of imaginations I've had about her.
  • My Brie was untainted but she could also manage to make me furious as hell.
  • I was a ruthless man who doesn't tolerate even the slightest disrespect. Not even from her.
  • She had managed to tick me off when she had tried to refuse the marriage, I always had been a hard man, she would have to get used to my ways.
  • The beep of my phone alerted me of an incoming call, it better be some good news of the whereabouts of Brie.
  • Devin's voice sounded almost immediately from the other side of the line.
  • "She's been located "
  • The words set my heart a little at ease but my anger was still threatening to spill over, of all the things I planned to do with the bastards that took her.
  • "Where is she? Who has her? "
  • There was a slight hesitation and it ticked me off, I wished I was there, he'll surely be wailing over a bruise or two.
  • "She was last seen at the airport alongside one of the bodyguards I've seen with Marcus, I think she isn't a hostage to anyone"
  • Bloody bastard!
  • Marcus had lied to me!
  • I exhaled raggedly, Marcus backed out of the deal and he was too much of a pussy to come up straight with me.
  • Uncle Nicholas had always suspected Marcus had a deal with the Russians, I guess now that he was right.
  • Marcus would never get away unscathed as he has only succeeded in deepening the rivalry between both our families.
  • The source of my anger wasn't because of Marcus's betrayer, I had already prepared myself that he could have a trick up his sleeves or choose to work with my enemies instead.
  • I was furious because of Brie.
  • She was at the airport, she was getting away from me!
  • I realized the line was still on, and Devin was waiting for my next order.
  • "Don't lose sight of them, I'm on my way " I breathed the order.
  • "I understand "
  • The call came to an end. If Brie thinks she would be able to get away from me, then she would soon understand that even the ends of the earth weren't enough to keep her away from me.
  • She would become mine in every way possible. That was for certain.
