Chapter 39 Into The Abyss
- The fall had no end. No sky, no stone, no air. Only the unending descent into gloom, punctuated by bursts of silver crown-light and crimson.
- Finally, Jared struck a solid object. Although the impact caused his ribs to crack and his lungs to burst with air, the ground beneath him wasn't made of stone when he stumbled to his feet. His face was reflected back at him as it rippled, glassy and black like water.
