Chapter 7 Clean Up After Chris

• Snow's POV
• When we arrived at the hall I was surprised to see Chris with his eyes on the floor. I raised an eyebrow at that.
• What really happened to the assignment he was sent on,I know nothing about it and I never asked because it doesn't concern me.
• "I see you are here Snow,if I knew that Chris was going to make such a mess I would have sent you on that assignment". Boss said as I walked closer to him and stopped in front of him.
• "What did he do?". I asked curiously.
• Boss wasn't the type that made a big deal out of nothing whatsoever Chris did.
• "He killed the wrong target...he killed a minister's son". Boss said and the whole hall went quiet.
• This is bringing trouble to your doorstep.
• "What are we going to do then?". I asked.
• "The minister said we should hand him over to him". Boss replied.
• I knew there was no way that it was going to happen,we can never hand over one of our own to anyone no matter what we stick together until it gets tough and tough decisions have to be made.
• "We aren't giving him away then...the minister won't be pleased". I said.
• "He knows why we have to prepare ourselves for the worst and tighten security". Boss explained.
• "Talk about being lousy...you really made a big mess for someone that's always cautious Chrisy boy". I said to Chris a bit he didn't reply nor did he say anything in reply.
• Am sure that's more to it then his saying,something must have happened Chrus would never act so reckless.
• Boss gave instructions on how to enhance security and how everyone should be careful with their actions as he tries to talk with the minister,who would even want to hear anything that isn't paying blood for blood.
• The minister would never let his son die in vain and the boss knows it. The boss and I went back to his office with Chris afterwards.
• "If I knew you would be this careless I would have just sent Snow". Boss shook his head.
• "Am sorry…". Boss hit Chris with the tip of his never changing walking stick and Chris took in a deep breath and shut up.
• "Your apology isn't necessary at this point,there's no going back to you no we can't risk the life of another person for yours if it gets to the point of a trade be ready to go with the minister". Boss told Chris who just nodded.
• I hated it today but my lips turned into a smirk of its own free will.I disliked Chris for many things and one being his creepy.
• "If not that I promised you late that I would protect you I would have let you go....Get out I needed to talk to Snow alone".Boss instructed Chris and he left.
• Boss sighed deeply.
• "He created an even bigger mess". Boss said no one in particular.
• I didn't want to rub it in that I told you so,I was the best at this no matter how messy I was.
• "I guess this proves you're still the second boss around here, you always were ''. Boss said and his compliment made me smirk.
• To be a boss in the midst of men wasn't as easy as it seems but I was the only surviving woman here,the rest either ran away or died and the others were just here to please the men and a first glance at me you would know I wouldn't stoop to that level no matter what.
• "Investigate this further and make sure there's no problems". Boss instructed.
• "Yes boss". I said and left the boss's office.
• As I was walking down the hallway back to my room I saw Chris leaning against the wall he was waiting for me so I stopped in front of him.
• "You can laugh if you want". He said and I rolled my eyes.
• This wasn't a laughing matter no matter how much I wanted to rub it into his face,I held myself back.
• "Tell me what happened and all you know". I said and Chris narrated what his assignment was and how he mistakenly shot someone else because he was close to the person he was asked to kill.
• "I don't believe you". I stated.
• "Am telling the truth". He defended.
• "And I don't believe a word you say,you better start talking if you want this to end quickly,the kid does nothing that could be done but you have to tell me the truth if you want to save yourself". I said.
• "Save myself? There's no need for that and you shouldn't bother yourself about this if it gets to the point of a trade I would go willingly". Chris said as he turned his back and walked away from me.
• There was something fishy about this.
• What could possibly be wrong with Chris?
• What did he get himself into?
