Chapter 6 Fire Star Sect

  • Yan Chen furrowed his brow. It was actually a saying that a wandering warrior would often utter. But Yan Chen did not see those characteristics in Chia Yun. He did not even feel any power emanating from the young man's body. That meant Chia Yun had no cultivation base and indicated he was not a warrior but just an ordinary person with no martial arts skills.
  • Indeed, it was not uncommon for someone with no martial arts skills to have a fondness for adventure and wandering. So that was the only answer Yan Chen could deduce. He thought that perhaps Chia Yun just wanted to enjoy life in a way that Yan Chen thought he could not see.
  • "Brother Chia, if I may advise you, you should leave this place immediately. This Xinghe city is facing a great threat. One of the great commanders of the Red Bear Sect is moving into this place to seize the leadership of the city. If they take control of this city, it will be hell," Yan Chen said.
  • "Isn't this city under the Fire Star Sect?" "Aren't they going to take action?" asked Chia Yun without changing her expression.
  • "Hhhh..." Yan Chen let out a long sigh. "They too are facing a big problem. Whether or not the sect will still exist depends on the chairman's decision." Yan Chen looked down sadly.
  • Chia Yun could guess that the young man was actually a member of the Fire Star Sect. He also believed that his appearance in Xianghe City was related to the news that the city would be attacked by the Red Bear Sect.
  • "If I'm not mistaken, this Yan brother is a member of the Fire Star, isn't he?" Chia Yun smiled, still with his eyes closed.
  • Yan Chen changed his face. He knew Chia Yun was just guessing. But the guess was very telling. Even though his appearance did not show that he was a member of the Fire Star sect at all. Plus, Chia Yun could not see, so it was impossible for the young man he considered blind to correctly guess his identity.
  • Yan Chen looked at Chia Yun. He only saw a blind youth in that place who looked friendly with his trademark smile. "Perhaps it is true that when heaven takes something away from a human, it replaces it with another. His eyes may be blind, but the eyes of his heart will become sharper," the young man thought.
  • Alright, brother Chia, I will return to my place first. Be careful. I heard that the people from the Red Bear Sect are nearing Xianghe City today. They might be in this place in two days," Yan Chen said.
  • Yan Chen then asked Chia Yun for permission to leave the place. The young man walked away with shaky steps. There seemed to be a great burden that he was carrying.
  • Later that night in Xiang He City, the sky was very dark on Tian Yun Hill. The situation was even more tense on the hill, which looked very isolated from human activity. In fact, in that place stood a large association called the Fire Star Sect.
  • The Fire Star Sect was famous for its great name as a truth-defending sect that was on the Straight Path. The sect was also known to have produced many warriors who had made their way through the martial world. However, that great name seemed to dim tonight as the sect seemed to be very quiet. If people didn't know, then they would assume that the people who were there had left the hill.
  • On the field in front of the biggest building on the hill, all the members of the Fire Star Sect, numbering about a thousand, had gathered. The clothes they wore were reddish-orange, with embroidered images of stars emitting flames right on their chests. They all kneeled before a seventy-year-old man wearing the same colored clothes. The difference was that the old man's clothes had white patches in several places.
  • The door to the main building of the Fire Star Sect opened. A white-clothed old man appeared on the spot. On his chest was also an embroidered red star that emitted flames. He was Chang Wu Tian, the head of the famous sect. He came out accompanied by four main disciples who were also direct disciples of the sect leader.
  • "Salute the great chairman!" all the Fire Star sect members standing in front of the main building exclaimed as they knelt down to salute.
  • "Get up!" said Chang Wu Tian softly.
  • Simultaneously, everyone got up. But suddenly, the two main disciples of the Fire Star Sect who were behind the chief came forward and kneeled down.
  • "Master, all of this is our fault; it has nothing to do with this sect. We are both ready to take responsibility for what we have done. This sect does not need to bear the sins we have committed."
  • "Hmmm... Have you gone against my decision? Whatever happens to you is also our responsibility. Even if the people in your position are lower-level sect members, the Fire Star Sect people will defend them," Chang Wu Tian said with a trembling voice.
  • "Master, what happened to the Liong family in Hongye City was indeed due to our ignorance of the situation and thus our participation in the bloody tragedy. That grudge should be our responsibility," said one of the kneeling disciples.
  • The names of the two disciples were Yuan Chao, who spoke, and Yuan Ming, who was beside him. They were the two disciples involved in the massacre of the Liong family in Hongye City. Although their involvement was due to an accident, they still felt they had to take responsibility.
  • "You've decided that even if the sect is razed to the ground, I will defend you two to the death." "For those of you who disagree with me, please leave this place and quit the sect," Chang Wu Tian said.
  • "You two don't need to worry; I still give you time to live for one week. Later, after the next week, I will take your lives. I won't bring in anyone else except those who were involved in what happened in Hongye City to the Liong family. But if they want to interfere in this matter, I will not hesitate to level the Fire Star Sect to the ground!"
  • Suddenly, there was a low voice that sounded like a whisper but was very clear to the ears of the Fire Star Sect people. His words were soft yet laced with a stern threat.
  • "How could this person be inside without me feeling his presence?" muttered Chang Wu Tian, trying to hide his shock.
  • A young man dressed all in red with a cloth robe hanging on his back stood tall. His hair was flowing with his eyes closed. He stood right at the altar where the Fire Star Sect people prayed. On the wall beside the altar table were blood-red palm prints.
