Chapter 1 I Want To Go With You
- I was deaf, but due to an unexpected incident, I regained my hearing.
- What should have been an incredibly joyous moment turned bitter when I unexpectedly overheard my own daughter saying she hated me and accusing me of ruining her life.
- That day, after going to the hospital for a follow-up and repeatedly confirming that I had regained my hearing, I immediately returned home, eager to share the great news with my family.
- But as soon as I opened the front door, I overheard my daughter pleading with my husband, “Dad, I'm almost twenty. I don't want to keep dancing anymore. That insufferable woman keeps forcing me to practice so much that I have no time to go out and date! Last month, she caught me with my boyfriend and had the nerve to threaten me, telling me to break up with him. Who does she think she is?”
- I saw my husband gently pat her head. “Just bear with it a little longer, sweetheart. I'll figure out a solution.”
- “It's all her fault that my life is ruined! Why is she so selfish, forcing me to carry on her legacy, when all I want is to be a dedicated housewife?”
- In an instant, my palms were slick with cold sweat, and I couldn't stop my body from trembling.
- Ever since she was a child, dancing was her passion, and she truly had a natural talent for it. Was it really wrong of me to want to push her to achieve even greater heights?
- Her boyfriend was truly no good, a genuine troublemaker from the streets. Was it wrong of me to urge them to break up?
- My daughter continued to complain, “Dad, when are you going to divorce that awful woman? I want to go with you!”
- I slowly walked into the room where I kept the drawer containing the evidence of my husband's infidelity. For the sake of our child, I had repeatedly swallowed my pride and endured the pain.
- But it seemed there was no need to keep holding back anymore.
- My child and my husband were as ungrateful as they could be.
