Chapter 119
- Marco
- It had been a week of silence, the most I had gotten since the wedding. There had been no ambush, no warehouses set on fire, no bodies dropped at my gates that I had to bury and inform their families of their deaths. I hadn't heard a word from Six either, it was almost like he had disappeared from the surface of the earth. It was eerie, unnatural even. I had gotten used to the chaos, I liked it. My brain was constantly working. I was always washing blood off of me. I loved the scent of it, I loved staring at the shower drain as the bloody water flowed away. I loved going to bed with the memory of the man I gutted earlier that day. Now, this silence, I didn't like it at all. It was like the calm before the kind of storm that rips the roof off your house and leaves you completely exposed.
- I knew better than to relax. I wouldn't let Six or the Chellini's take me by surprise again. I was waiting for them.
