- Jason's eyes darted toward the woman who had just walked in. Her confident stride, the way she removed her dark shades and looked around the room as if she already owned it—Jason knew instantly that she wasn’t someone to be underestimated.
- The room went still as Fiona’s smile faded, her grip on the children tightening for a split second. "You're not in charge of anything here," Fiona said, her voice cold and sharp. "Grandfather’s will hasn’t been read yet."
- "Do you think it matters?" the woman sneered, placing her sunglasses on the side table. She walked up to Fiona, her heels clicking on the polished marble floor. "We both know who was meant to inherit everything, and it's certainly not you."
