Chapter 3 Real Family

  • “Aarrghhh!”
  • Zayne woke up after another recurring nightmare.
  • It had been two days, and Zayne was still haunted by the despicable actions of his ex-girlfriend and former best friend. Their insults continued to ring in his ears, haunting his every dream.
  • Zayne wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, then turned to the window in the VIP room of the hospital where he was staying.
  • Now, he had become the son of Christopher Veldro. But Zayne had never seen him; he only saw Andrew every day.
  • Does his biological father even care about him? Maybe Zayne had just entered another hell, only this one was gilded with gold.
  • He didn’t want to think badly, but after what had happened to him, it was impossible for him to think positively again.
  • “You’re awake, young master? I’ve prepared the best beef ribs for you, a little spicy as you requested. Please eat.”
  • Zayne smiled, then watched as Andrew prepared his meal.
  • Everything was luxurious, everything was delicious.
  • It was truly a comfortable life. And Zayne wasn’t used to living so comfortably.
  • “Can I have all of this?” Zayne murmured, something he should have kept to himself.
  • He was surprised he had said it out loud, and even Andrew laughed after hearing it.
  • “Of course you deserve all this, young master! Oh, by the way, Mr. Chris will be coming to visit you tonight. Are you ready?”
  • Zayne nodded slowly.
  • “Since you’re feeling better, I’ll tell you a little about yourself. Actually, you were with your family until you were three years old, but of course you don’t remember that. Then, your father and mother had a huge argument and divorced because the circumstances made it impossible for them to stay together. Mr. Chris took your twin brother, Zeno, and your mother took you with her. We had always thought you were fine with your mother. But it turned out that two months ago, your father only found out that your mother had died when you were six years old, and you were forced to enter an orphanage. Then, you were adopted by the Creze family when you were ten years old, right? Thankfully, I was able to find you in time. Because it turned out your situation was very bad. Your father didn’t dare to meet you because he felt so guilty toward you.”
  • Zayne lowered his head. It turned out his vague memories of his mother were indeed true. He had thought he had been in an orphanage since birth. Because his adoptive parents always said, “You were abandoned in a trash bin since birth. Ask the people at the orphanage! You’re lucky we adopted you. Otherwise, you’d be scavenging in the trash. Be grateful for us. You have a place to live and can eat for free!”
  • “Oh, young master, you’re still in school, aren’t you? You’ll graduate soon and go to university. Have you applied yet?” Andrew asked.
  • Zayne shook his head slowly, chewing on the tender, delicious beef rib.
  • Andrew chuckled softly, finding his young master adorable as he stuffed food into his cheeks.
  • Thankfully, Zayne had been improving over the past two days. His sunken cheeks had plumped up again, and his face had regained its healthy glow.
  • Now Zayne looked just like his twin brother, except Zayne was cuter. But that was according to Andrew.
  • “I haven’t applied to any universities, Andrew, because I have plans to work harder to earn a lot of money. My foster parents said they spent a lot of money on my school fees and other expenses, so I have to pay them back. I always set aside part of my salary to pay them every month.”
  • Andrew was shocked to hear the young master’s honest confession.
  • “That’s outrageous, young master! Every parent who adopts a child from an orphanage receives a monthly allowance from the government of up to $300! What money are they talking about? They should be the ones giving you money, young master.”
  • Zayne was shocked to hear how angry Andrew was about the information he had just given him.
  • “So… I was deceived?” asked Zayne.
  • Andrew was overwhelmed with frustration. His young master had been manipulated for years, unaware that he had been completely deceived.
  • “Young master! Allow me to meet your adoptive parents and slaughter them all!”
  • Andrew quickly stood up from his seat, but Zayne hurriedly pulled him back down.
  • “Andrew, wait! Don’t do anything to them, because I want to take revenge on them directly. I know I’ve been foolish all this time, but I will change and take revenge on them all.”
  • Andrew smiled upon hearing this, and he also felt moved by those words.
  • “Young master, I will train you until you become strong. I am also skilled in martial arts; I will make you a strong young man who won’t be easily underestimated.”
  • Zayne smiled widely, “Really? Thank you, Andrew.”
  • “It’s my duty, young master.”
  • The door to the room opened.
  • Zayne was surprised to see a tall, muscular man standing there. Behind him was another man, who seemed to be his assistant, and another young man who looked quite similar to Zayne.
  • Was that Zeno? The one Andrew mentioned as his twin brother?
  • “Mr. Chris! Young Master Zeno, please come in. Young Master Zayne has just finished dinner.”
  • Zayne looked up, staring at Chris and Zeno with admiration. Both of them looked dominant and cool. Their eyes were very sharp and… Why were their eyes suddenly teary?
  • Chris moved quickly and hugged Zayne tightly.
  • Warm.
  • Zayne had never felt this warm when hugged by someone—oh, actually, he had almost never been hugged by anyone.
  • He didn’t know what it felt like to be hugged so warmly.
  • “Dad, move aside! I want to hug him too!”
  • “No, Dad first!”
  • “Dad!”
  • Why were they fighting over him like that?
