• I didn't know what to cry about - losing my first mate or having to interact with him every day while carrying the shame of breaking into his sister's house and even taking her partner? • "Take a deep breath, Cynthia," Mr. Holt said gently as he helped me settle into the bed. I had been sobbing and hiding my face in my hands the entire time. Why was I feeling so vulnerable when I didn't want to be?
