• It was early morning, the second day after mummy told us that some people were trying to hurt Melody. I couldn't believe it still. Who would want to hurt a girl as sweet as that?
• I couldn't sleep at all through the night and kept tossing about on the bed, trying to think of a way to protect Melody on our own terms. I couldn't leave it to mummy, daddy and Uncle Liam alone to solve. They wouldn't be there all the time. I had meant it when I had said we would also protect Melody. Now, the problem was I couldn't think of how we were going to do that.
