Chapter 116 Ritual

  • RITUAL
  • Alpha Eric moved with a kind of urgency that none of his men had seen in a long time. The moment Ava made her demand and he swore on the ground that remembered, he wasted no time. He wanted everything ready. If this was the night his pack would finally be freed from the shadows that clung to them, then it would be done grandly.
  • At Ava’s request, he released Georgina. The guards brought her out, thin and pale but alive. The moment Ava saw her, she rushed to her and wrapped her arms around her friend. Georgina wept in her embrace, her body shaking with the relief of freedom. Ava held her tighter, whispering that it would be alright now, that she was here and nothing would separate them again. For the first time in weeks, Ava smiled without force. Georgina clung to her, and though her voice trembled, she laughed too. They sat together in a corner for a while, catching up. Ava told her she had missed her. Georgina replied that every day in the cell she prayed for her return, even when she feared she would never see her again. Their reunion filled the air with warmth in the midst of the cold tension that hung over the pack.
