Chapter 3 The Price Of Redemption
- Damien’s POV
- The thick smell of blood in the forest, mixed with her deadly sweetness, intoxicated me.
- She was mine.
- Finally, she was mine.
- I held the woman in my arms as she fell into a deep sleep, unbelievably soft.
- I didn’t even dare to exert any force, afraid I might crush her accidentally.
- But this fragile woman had endured my most primal, most uncontrollable mark.
- I never regretted it.
- I only hated myself for not finding her sooner.
- Walking into the villa, I placed her directly on the master bed that I had never allowed anyone to step on.
- I cleaned her body, wiping away the filth. When my fingertips touched her snow-white skin, a strong electric current surged through my body again.
- My wolf soul roared, wanting to possess her completely, imprinting my scent on every inch of her body.
- But I held back.
- She was too fragile, unable to withstand any more harm.
- I dried her hair, covered her with a silk quilt, and then walked out of the room.
- In the living room, Leo Vance, that noisy guy had already arrived, lazily leaning on the sofa, looking like he deserved a beating.
- Seeing me coming out of the bedroom, he adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and glanced at the clock on the wall.
- “Damien, luckily your villa is remote enough…”
- I couldn’t be bothered to listen to his nonsense.
- Walking to the liquor cabinet, I needed a strong drink to suppress the almost irrational agitation in my body caused by her.
- “It’s different after mating with a mate. Looks like you won’t need the antidote I brought?”
- Leo’s teasing voice came.
- Antidote?
- I never thought of using that thing.
- The unrestrained desire in her, caused by the potion, was exactly what I wanted.
- “Which woman is so capable, actually becoming the destined one for our Lycan King?”
- I placed the empty glass on the table, spun it with my fingertips, and casually uttered the name I had silently repeated countless times in my heart.
- “Seraphina Wilder.”
- Leo froze.
- I knew what he was thinking.
- Seraphina Wilder.
- Aiden Sterling’s fiancée. A humble woman, a joke to the entire werewolf clan.
- He couldn’t help but ask, “Damien, are you deliberately going against Sterling, so you’re playing with his woman?”
- Playing?
- He actually used the word playing to describe the union between me and my mate?
- A strong sense of killing intent surged from the depths of my heart instantly.
- My sharp gaze swept over, and Leo immediately felt the danger, chuckling and closing his mouth.
- I sneered coldly, “Aiden Sterling, that kid, is he even worthy?”
- An Alpha who can’t even protect his own partner, let alone prevent her humiliation, is nothing in my eyes.
- Leo dared not speak further, but the curiosity in his eyes still annoyed me.
- “If you don’t get lost soon, you won’t need your tongue.”
- Watching him crawl into the helicopter, my world finally became quiet.
- …
- I don’t know how long I watched her by the bed.
- It wasn’t until her long eyelashes trembled slightly that I restrained all my emotions and returned to my usual indifference.
- She woke up.
- When she saw me, fear filled her clear eyes.
- She was like a startled deer, immediately lying down and wrapping herself tightly in the blanket.
- So foolish.
- Did she think that thin blanket could block my sight?
- I could clearly feel every inch of her skin, smell the lingering scent that belonged to me.
- “We have marked each other, Seraphina. Do you want to deny our bond?”
- My voice was not loud, but enough to make her give up the ridiculous resistance.
- She cautiously peeked out from the blanket, her beautiful eyes showing a hint of regret and fear.
- “Lycan King… I… I didn’t mean to. I was drugged, that’s why I… offended you… How do you want me to compensate?”
- Compensate?
- She actually wanted to define our sacred, destined bond with the word compensate?
- An unnamed anger surged up from my chest.
- I raised an eyebrow, looking at her eager to clarify the relationship, sneering in my heart.
- “How do you want to compensate me?”
- “I… I can treat you to a meal?”
- “Do I look like I lack that meal?”
- She seemed stumped by my question, a hint of confusion flashing in her clear eyes.
- What a fool.
- I slightly bent down, lifting her delicate chin and forcing her to look at me.
- “Seraphina, last night I satisfied your instincts. As compensation, now it’s your turn to satisfy me.”
- I wanted her to know that from the moment she intruded into my territory, she had no possibility of escape.
- I held her waist, leaning in for a kiss.
- Her lips were sweet, with a hint of youthful, deadly temptation, almost making me lose control.
- I could feel her body trembling, her heartbeat accelerating.
- Good.
- At least her body was much more honest than her mouth.
- My kiss went down, capturing her shell-like earlobe, gently licking and nibbling.
- I loved hearing her delicate, slightly shy moans beneath me. It gave me a sense of pleasure to completely destroy and possess her.
- But then,
- A strange emotion flashed through me!
- Although our spiritual connection was weak, I could clearly sense that she was thinking of someone else!
- It was Aiden Sterling!
- “Hey!”
- An uncontrollable, beast-like growl burst from deep within my throat, filled with endless rage and… pain.
- My wolf soul roared madly, my heart feeling as if it were being brutally cut open by the sharpest silver blade. The pain almost suffocated me.
- How dare she?
- How dare she think of another man while I marked her, while I kissed her!
- My hands tightened uncontrollably, almost crushing her delicate shoulders.
- I abruptly stopped. My body stiffly pulled away.
- I propped myself above her, staring deeply into her slightly confused eyes.
- “Lost in thought?”
- My voice was cold.
- She seemed startled, her body tensed, her eyes filled with panic and fear.
- “I… I didn’t mean to.”
- “It seems my charm is not enough to captivate my mate.” My voice showed no emotion, but only I knew that jealousy was driving me insane.
- She actually thought of another man while being intimate with me!
- Unforgivable.
- She subconsciously apologized, her fragile appearance tearing at the ferocity and tenderness in my heart.
- “It’s okay.” I smirked, a hint of mischief in my smile.
- She breathed a sigh of relief.
- Naive.
- I rolled over, lifting her soft body and letting her rest on my strong chest.
- I wanted her to look at me, only at me.
- My warm lips brushed against her ear, my voice carrying a dangerous, seductive tone.
- “This time, you take the lead.”
- I wanted her to erase the traces of that man with her own actions, to make her body and soul completely, solely mine.
