Chapter 30 A Wedding Between Worlds

• We married at the blue house three months later. A week before the wedding, Hades and Persephone formally surrendered their crowns. Lysander accepted the throne; I agreed to serve beside him as queen. We would divide our time between the Underworld and the house above the sea. I had no intention of giving up either home.
• The guest list reached three hundred despite my best efforts. Persephone invited every flower spirit. Hades brought shades who had known us in the first life. Demeter fed everyone. Dionysus promised not to turn the fountain into wine and broke the promise before noon.
• Phoebe placed the painted cup we had bought from her beside the wedding cake, scolding Lysander for having chipped its rim. Cleon carried the rings. Thessa cried before I put on my dress.
