  • Aurelia stood beneath the cascading water, steam curling like fog around her skin. She braced her hands on the marble, letting the heat sink into her bones, but it couldn’t ease the ache in her chest.   • She slipped into one of Callum’s button-down shirts, the fabric hanging loose on her frame, her bare legs cold against the hardwood as she walked into the bedroom. She paused at the glass doors leading to the balcony—closed now, thick curtains drawn. Her reflection merged with the shadowed skyline beyond.
