Chapter 4094 Who Knows What You're Scheming

  • Zeke finally pieced together what Moon Immortal had taught Vela. The gist was this— Find spatial fragments, use the power inside them to tweak the rules of whatever space they affect, then flip all the radiance in that space into the Moon Pryncyp’s moonlight—and draw it in. Once absorbed, that altered space would help her dodge heavenly tribulations. Breaking into Eternal Class would be a breeze—no real danger at all. … Still, safe or not depends on how you use those fragments. Moon Immortal must’ve handed Vela a full playbook. “She said she’s got a way to use the fragments?” Zeke asked. Vela nodded lightly. “Yeah. Moon Immortal told me how. She even said she could help from Lunar Star when the time comes—her exact words. She also admitted she once failed to break through with this method, so she never reached Emperor Class.” “And if you’ve got a shot, she wants you to owe her a favor, right?” Zeke grinned, but his eyes stayed wary. He couldn’t read Moon Immortal’s mind, but whatever it was, it didn’t smell like sunshine and roses. Instinct said: be suspicious. With a sweet-enough carrot dangled, Vela might get played. Teaming up with Moon Immortal probably wouldn’t end well. “Little sis, where’s your head at?” Zeke asked. Vela’s pretty face tightened—torn, hesitant—then she forced a wobbly smile. “Senior, I want to help you. But I know Moon Immortal might not be truly on my side. Ruth is her daughter. She has zero reason to favor me.” “Honestly, I think she planned this ages ago. Back when I absorbed the Moon Pryncyp, she didn’t stop it. She let Ruth give me that power.” Zeke paced under the moonlight, deep in thought. Suddenly, the light around him sharpened—brighter, colder. He blinked, looked up. From Lunar Star, a ribbon of moonlight fell, condensing into a white-robed phantom. Vela froze, then caught on fast. “Moon Immortal, senior?” “Smart move,” Zeke said, thoughtful. “Looks like you’ve been watching, and you know we weren’t buying it—so you showed up?” Moon Immortal had no face—just a body of pale moonlight—but her voice rang clear and lovely. “Annihilation Heavenly Immortal, Ice Dance and I don’t have a fundamental conflict of interest with you. Yet you refuse to cooperate.” “Give me a break.” Zeke’s laugh was pure derision. “Ice Dance has been trying to gut me since day one. If I didn’t have the Three Temporal Forms, she would’ve possessed my Pryncyp already. You think I don’t know what she’s up to?” Moon Immortal paused, then sounded genuinely taken aback. “Three Temporal Forms? You mean…” “Yeah, I can use it,” Zeke said. “And she clocked that my Three Temporal Forms can borrow power—and how strong or weak it gets. That’s why she’s trying to trick me into doing her dirty work. What am I, a toddler?” “She spares me because she’s seen my future. You really think I don’t know?” Moon Immortal laughed softly. “Annihilation Heavenly Immortal, why the persecution complex? Ice Dance is pregnant. The child is yours. Do you truly think she’s that heartless? Anyway, I’m not here to rehash that.” “Then spit it out,” Zeke said, voice icing over. Moon Immortal said, “Win-win. That’s what cultivators at our level should aim for. Conflict exists, but cooperation should, too. Don’t you want Vela stronger—your right hand?” “Of course I do. But who the hell knows what you’re scheming.” Zeke sneered. “Moon Immortal, Vela’s Pryncyp matches yours. Don’t tell me you don’t want to take a page from Ice Dance and go cut down the ancient Ice Empress.”
