Chapter 7

  • Felix had been captured by the sons of Lord Sirio, the ruler of Aftermoom. Their names were Joaquim and Helton Brown. The Lords worked for King Isau, the all-powerful ruler who governed various regions across the kingdoms. He always sent his troops and the sons of the Lords into battles, insisting that the mythical creatures from neighboring realms sought to destroy everything. Therefore, he ordered the Lords to launch attacks on the Northern kingdoms to seek and annihilate any non-human beings. One of the captured creatures was the wolf Felix, who came from a very ancient pack, long before humans set foot on those lands.
  • Felix's homeland was a distant kingdom from Aftermoon, and it took him days of travel on horseback to be transported to Lord Sirio's lands after his capture. Fortunately, upon arriving at the enemy's castle, Felix managed to escape, running into the nearby forest. On that same day, he had an encounter with a human he had never seen before.
  • After hiding for some time, Felix used his human form to continue his journey. When night fell and no one was around, Felix would transform into his four-legged self and run with his abnormal wolf speed to reach his own kingdom, where his father, the Alpha, ruled the pack and their people.
  • The Kingdom of Wisdy...
  • In his realm, it was colder than anywhere else. It snowed most of the year, and when it didn't snow, it was bitterly cold. However, this was not a problem for Felix's pack and family, as wolves were naturally warm creatures.
  • After daybreak, Felix arrived in his kingdom. It had taken him several days to travel, as he couldn't stay transformed all the time while in enemy territory. The first thing the wolf did upon entering his castle was to speak with his father, Alpha Diego.
  • As soon as Felix entered his castle, he was swarmed by servants who tended to his many wounds. Wolves healed quickly, but the wounds were deep and had not yet fully healed. Felix just squeezed his eyes shut, ignoring it all. He wanted to be well to talk to his father about everything that had happened, about how he had been hunted by Lord Sirio's sons and even the king himself. He knew his father would search for him to the ends of the earth; he knew his father well. But now he was here, safe and sound, all because of a woman who had helped him—a beautiful woman with whom he had shared a night of love he never thought he would experience. She was human, and he had never had relationships with women from outside his kingdom. His father didn't like the residents of the realm having relations with outsiders, but Felix had, and he barely knew the woman. The wolf couldn't handle the intense excitement he had felt in Cateline's presence, and he remembered her name and her curves vividly. It was something that would never fade from his memory.
  • Felix was eager to meet this woman; there was something about her that intrigued him, and the wolf wanted to know why.
  • After his wounds had slightly improved, Felix thanked everyone and changed his clothes. He headed to his room, quickly putting on something comfortable. Once he was ready, he brushed his hair back and went in search of his father. Alpha Diego was in his own suite. Felix knocked on the door and soon heard a deep voice respond.
  • "Enter."
  • Felix pushed the door open hurriedly and found his father reclining on their enormous double bed, covered in thick, dark furs. Diego enjoyed the sensation of soft pelts when he was in human form.
  • "Father, I need to talk to you."
  • Felix said, approaching his father. Alpha Diego had been exhausted, spending days trying to track down his lost son, unaware that he had been captured by the human Lords.
  • Diego quickly got up from the bed upon hearing Felix's voice; his heir had finally returned.
  • "Son, you're here."
  • He exclaimed, rushing to be near his child. When they were at an appropriate distance, he grabbed Felix's arm and hugged him in his rough, fatherly way.
  • Felix returned the embrace and smiled as he responded.
  • “I'm here, father. We need to talk."
  • Alpha Diego released his son and scratched his beard before sitting back on the bed.
  • "Of course, let's talk."
  • Felix sat next to his father and looked into his deep, black eyes.
  • "Well, I was captured by the King's Lords. I was in the forest, hunting one of those giant stags. While I was focused, they surprised me. The Lorde's sons were there with several officials. I couldn't sense their presence as they approached. I fought back and ended up injured. I discovered that they know our weakness, father."
  • When Felix finished his sentence, Alpha Diego pounded his foot on the ground and grumbled loudly. His expression was even intimidating to those who didn't know him.
  • Diego had thick, dark eyebrows, full lips, and long, black hair that flowed down to his mid-back. He had a tanned and very muscular physique, a square and serious face, and he exuded an air of elegance that drew the attention of many women. Consequently, he had several concubines. Felix had inherited some of his father's beauty; he also had thick, dark eyebrows, and his eyes were as black as the night, just like his father's. However, his face was less square and more elongated, taking after his mother. Felix was taller and stronger than his father, but Diego was the more experienced and wise Alpha when it came to battles. Felix had a fair complexion, unlike his father's tanned skin, although after returning from Aftermoon, his skin was somewhat more bronzed than usual due to the hot sun that rose in the enemy's realm every day.
  • Many times, Felix's father had told him that he resembled his mother because of his beautiful smile and sweet gaze, in stark contrast to Diego. The Alpha had a serious and intimidating look that made everyone tremble. There were only a few instances when Felix had to look at others with such intensity, usually reserved for his enemies.
  • Diego calmed down upon seeing that his son had returned unharmed, but there were serious matters to be resolved with the Lords of Aftermoon.
  • "I'll announce this to our tribe, alright? If they've indeed discovered our weakness, we're in trouble. I'll hold a meeting later to figure out how to resolve this. Are you okay? Do you need any care?"
  • Felix shook his head and replied, "I'm fine. I just need some time alone. I'll see you later."
  • "Okay, my son."
  • Felix smiled at his father and walked to the door. After closing it behind him, he lay down on his bed and closed his eyes for a moment.
  • Felix missed his mother. She had died in a war between the Tribe of Fire and the Tribe of Ice. The war had erupted after Freya, Felix's mother and the only daughter of the King, was promised to the Tribe of Ice but chose to be with Diego instead. They had married, forming an alliance, and Felix, their only child, was born. Freya's actions led to rebellion among the other tribes, who had not accepted what the princess had done. It took years of war until Freya's death.
  • At that time, newborn births had already started to decline, becoming increasingly rare. In the present day, it was nearly impossible to hear of a report about a live newborn baby. This left everyone concerned, and more contracts with concubines were made in hopes that one of them would become pregnant.
  • The King of Afternoon, with the intention of maligning his enemies and shifting the blame onto their shoulders, spread rumors that the northern beasts were the cause of the infertility plague. However, this was far from the truth, and even the Tribe of Fire was unaware of the real reason for the infertility. They conducted investigations and attempted to discover any clues but knew that sooner or later, they would all perish without leaving anyone to carry on their legacy.
  • Now, Felix had discovered that those wretches knew about the wolves' weakness—the Onyx Stone. Its color was as dark as the night, and with each passing day, it became increasingly challenging to find such stones in nature. Felix, his father, and their entire pack had scoured the world, collecting a significant portion of these stones and locking them away in a vault. They had allies around the world, wolves from other regions who aided them in this task. This stone weakened the powers and energies of the beasts, rendering them feeble and unable to transform and fight with vigor. Wounds inflicted with these stones were deeper, and their healing was nearly nonexistent. Felix didn't know how they had discovered the existence of the stone, but now that they possessed it, the wolves feared losing in a potential second war.
  • As Felix brooded over these thoughts, he closed his eyes in anger, clenching his fists. He wanted to punch something, to break something to release his rage. The wolf couldn't believe that this was happening.
  • With his mind clouded and thoughts disturbed, the image of the woman he had lain with came to his mind. Felix calmed down as he remembered her, recalling every detail of her body. It was as if an angel was soothing his anger as he remembered her. Felix concentrated on the details—the woman's slender body, her breasts, her soft skin, her sweet scent, and her gentle voice. The wolf longed to feel her again, and just the thought of her made him grow hard.
