- I sat across the polished dining table, the familiar scent of rosemary chicken and roasted vegetables filling the air. The crystal chandelier above us gleamed, casting a soft glow across the room, but none of it could make the tension dissipate. Not when my father’s piercing eyes were fixed on me, assessing, questioning.
- "You still haven’t started your internship, Vivi." His voice, deep and commanding, broke the quiet hum of the room. I could feel the pressure building in my chest. "I’ve arranged a fantastic opportunity for you at the firm. Why haven’t you started yet?"
