• Victor stepped into the Mayor's Office after a day of attending colleges, seminars, and public gatherings. The heavy doors sealed behind him with a soft hiss.
• He had successfully publicized Springfield's new military program. Anybody above the age of eighteen could appear in the entrance tests. Only the best among them would be chosen to train and participate in an elite process. Just that, they would never know what they were getting into.
• The Mayor's room was vast, lined with dark wood panels and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked the military-industrial city of Springfield. He crossed to the largest window.
