• "You are so stupid!" Tristan stood frozen in shock as his father's furious fist connected with his face. The force of the blow almost sent him sprawling to the ground. The room seemed to blur as his step-mother, sensing the commotion, rushed out from the kitchen, her eyes widening in alarm at the scene unfolding before her.
• "Benjamin, why did you do that?!" she exclaimed, her voice full of disbelief. Her hands reaching out to hold onto her husband.
