Chapter 3

  • To gain a more comprehensive understanding of the humanoid snakes, the research team opened up the head of the snake that night and made a surprising discovery. Apart from their attacking abilities, these new species might also possess high intelligence.
  • Such speculation delighted the members of the team. Animals with high IQ and lower intelligence birds were two different concepts. If they could extract something of value from the humanoid snakes, it would be a contribution to humanity.
  • However, the intelligent beings seemed to be startled by the chaos of that day. Several days had passed, and there was no sign of the humanoid snakes on the island. This posed a dilemma for the research progress.
  • Julia, who had recovered from the high fever before the arrival of the medical team, was able to walk freely after her illness. Unfortunately, Samuel was still busy searching for traces of the humanoid snakes and had no time to meet her. She could only go to her father's research room.
  • The makeshift laboratories set up for the professors had grown in size. When Julia went there, Evan wasn't inside. The small temporary studio was very neat, filled with bottles, jars, and equipment. Julia casually took a look around.
  • Suddenly, she noticed a stack of records on the desk. Curiously, she flipped through them and realized that they were her father's records of various indicators and descriptions of the humanoid snakes.
  • The scribbled words indicated that the upper bodies of the humanoid snakes were no different from ordinary humans, except that their tongues seemed to have not evolved and still had characteristics of a snake's forked tongue. Their lower bodies, however, were unusually thick, resembling a python, with a diameter of nearly sixty centimeters at the widest part...
  • Suddenly, Julia blushed.
  • She had come across her father documenting information about the sexual organs of the humanoid snakes. The specimen they captured this time was a male humanoid snake, so they dissected his lower body and found that they had paired reproductive organs similar to regular snakes, and, more importantly, the evolution of its reproductive organs was strikingly similar to that of humans. What was even more significant was that it seemed to be mating season at the moment.
  • Tossing aside the record sheets, Julia was too embarrassed to look at the abstract diagrams in the back.
  • When they left the mainland, it was already late autumn, but on this island, it was spring. The gentle spring sunshine accompanied by the cool sea breeze made Julia, walking barefoot on the beach, feel as if she were on a vacation in Hawaii.
  • The crystal blue sea, fine sandy beach, and lush coconut trees hanging with coconuts. It had to be said that this undeveloped mysterious island had quite a picturesque scenery.
  • "Miss Julia, this area has already been patrolled. It's very safe here. You can play around while I step away for a moment. Just make sure you don't go anywhere else, okay?"
  • Julia turned around and looked at the soldier waving at her. He was the one Samuel sent to protect her, always wearing a sincere and simple smile. His name was Diego Lee.
  • "Alright, I got it!"
  • The soldier still seemed a bit worried as he gave Julia a few more instructions before quickly running off, leaving Julia alone to play, looking mischievously at the dense jungle above.
  • The shallow sea water, barely reaching her ankles, was a clear and vibrant green. With each small wave, it brought forth splashes of water, revealing various peculiar-shaped seashells. Julia held up her white dress with one hand and began to play in the water.
  • If she turned these beautifully colored seashells into wind chimes and hung them inside the tent, it would surely be a lovely sight.
  • The slightly cool seawater splashed against her knees as Julia walked deeper into the water. It wasn't until the sand beneath her feet started to disappear that she suddenly remembered the soldier's warning not to go into the sea.
  • "I guess I should go back now."
  • Carrying a handful of seashells in the wide hem of her dress, she looked at the calm surface of the sea with her tired waist supported. She was ready to turn and leave when she suddenly froze, her eyes flickering towards the sea about ten meters away from her.
  • "What is that? A shark?"
  • It seemed that something was swimming towards her, though not very fast. She could only vaguely see it as a blurry black shadow. For some reason, looking at that dark mass, she felt her heart tighten inexplicably.
  • Her intuition warned her that something was wrong, and she immediately tried to run towards the shore.
  • But just as she took a step forward, a cold thing suddenly wrapped around her leg! Julia, terrified, couldn't even scream as she felt the unknown object tightly yank on her leg.
  • "Crack!"
  • Caught off guard, her petite figure fell into the water. The salty water rushed into her nostrils, making it impossible for her to breathe. What was even scarier was that the thing entangling her ankle was pulling her rapidly toward the deeper waters!
  • "Ouch... help... help!"
  • She desperately flailed her hands on the water's surface, hoping to grasp onto something that could save her. The turbulent seawater made it impossible for her to maintain her balance, and as she choked on water entering her lungs, she began to lose consciousness.
  • Suddenly, she felt the terrifying force cease, and the bindings around her ankles loosened. However, before she could feel relief, she felt something wrap around her waist on the next second.
  • It was an indescribable sensation for her. Even through the layer of her cotton shirt, she could feel the icy coldness of what was coiling around her waist. It seemed to be the tail of some creature, starting thin and gradually thickening, applying immense pressure that nearly suffocated her.
  • Julia, who had been lifted out of the water, frantically coughed up the seawater. Her heavy head buzzed with chaos, and in her powerless state, she could only greedily inhale the air tainted with the scent of the sea.
  • Soon, she discerned the movement of the object clenched around her waist. Overwhelmed by fear, the weak Julia instinctively shut her eyes tightly, unable to bear witness to it.
  • Her delicate body sank into the water and was consequently flipped over. Between her suspended legs, something penetrated, effortlessly spreading them apart. Due to buoyancy, only the lower half covered by her long skirt was still submerged, leaving her completely exposed.
  • Controlled by the restraint at her waist, she sat on the object between her legs. For a moment, Julia couldn't even dare to imagine what it could be, but she could only feel the smooth and cold carapace intimately pressed against her tender buttocks, resembling the spine of a fish...
  • No! That's not right, this sensation was more similar to the enormous tail of the humanoid snake she had encountered before!
  • This thought exploded into her mind like a lightning bolt, completely robbing her of any resistance.
  • "Splash!"
  • Something emerged from the water, and the overwhelming sense of oppression forced Julia to cautiously open her eyes. In that moment of seeing the light, she was dumbfounded.
  • --Dad, are they terrifying creatures?
  • --Not terrifying at all...
  • Their evolution was perfect, but Julia couldn't find any words to describe it. Even the most exquisite vocabulary couldn't fully capture the appearance of the being before her. It was like and ancient Greek deity, with profound and beautiful features...
  • "You..."
  • Julia trembled, her pale lips quivering in fear.
  • Its eyes were mesmerizing, emanating a clear azure blue from its pupils. They were more beautiful than any sapphire Julia had ever seen, as if they held an innate enchantment that drew her into their depths.
  • It pulled her sliding body closer into his embrace. Julia, regaining her senses, immediately began to struggle. Her feeble hands pressed against its bare, broad, and ice-cold chest, only to discover that its bone structure seemed much larger than that of an average man, causing a suffocating pressure that made it hard for her to breathe.
  • "Humanoid snake?" Her originally soft voice now trembled and struggled to produce sound.
