Chapter 16 To Paris

• Joel sat on the edge of the bed, facing her directly. Estelle had more questions to ask but found it needless, remembering her phone had been switched off the entire time she was in Paris and didn't also call to tell him she had arrived. She had no one else to blame but herself. She felt Joel's face turn hard at the question which made her fidget like a little child.
• "It's not what you suppose. He was merely introducing me to his business partners." Joel gave a soft scoff, which startled her. She knew he didn't believe her. "I know it's difficult for you to believe because finding out about my dad and all, was a huge shock to you. Am very sorry but I didn't want to be treated differently because of who my father is. That is the reason why I left Paris in the first place and took a transfer here. I just want to live a normal life."
• Joel released a breath that he was holding all this while but from how she looked, he knew she wanted to say more.
