Chapter 1 I Will Marry Him
- In the struggle among the three Great Divine Houses for the Throne of Olympus, a prophecy had been passed down for thousands of years.
- "The first woman to give birth to a Divine Heir blessed with the sacred Eternal Blood shall become the Queen of Olympus. And the man she chooses as her husband shall become the King of Olympus."
- As the only two High Priestesses who possessed Eternal Blood, my stepsister, Elysia, and I became the most sought-after brides in all of Olympus.
- In my previous life, Elysia chose to marry Xander, the grandson of Hades, believing he was the most promising candidate for the throne. However, after their marriage, Xander sank into indulgence and debauchery.
- He frequently descended to the mortal realm, entangling himself with mortal tavern girls and drowning in vice. During one drunken episode, he even damaged Elysia's bloodline, causing her to lose all of her divine power.
- As for me, I married Theron, the son of Ares, and successfully gave birth to the noble Divine Heir who carried the sacred Eternal Blood.
- Before the admiring eyes of all Olympus, Theron awakened the Crown of Olympus and ascended as the exalted King of Olympus.
- And I became the revered Queen of Olympus.
- Until the day of our coronation.
- Disguised as a servant, Elysia slipped into the ceremony and drove a dagger straight into my heart.
- Golden divine blood sprayed everywhere, staining my coronation gown in a dazzling blaze of gold.
- "Bitch..."
- Elysia ground her teeth, crimson veins spreading through her bloodshot eyes.
- “Why? We were born into the same family, and both became High Priestesses, yet you get to reign as the glorious Queen of Olympus while I end up like a filthy rat crawling through the gutters?"
- Her voice was raw with rage, every feature on her face twisted into sheer madness.
- "Daphne, that's unfair!"
- The dagger sank even deeper into my heart, and searing agony swallowed what remained of my consciousness. As my strength drained away, I vaguely saw Elysia glance toward Theron, who was frantically carrying our son, Lysander, as he fled.
- "You have everything only because you got lucky and chose the right husband, bitch!"
- She snarled, her eyes bulging with fury.
- "If I had another chance to choose, I'd never let a bitch like you have it so easy! I should be the Queen of Olympus!"
- Thud.
- Another weapon pierced flesh with a sickening sound, and Elysia collapsed before my eyes.
- The Solar Guards had arrived to save me, but my vision had already gone dark, and I crumpled onto the marble floor of the great hall.
- Only one final thought lingered in my mind.
- If there was another life, then let Elysia have Theron.
- Let her discover what kind of monster the perfect husband she had always longed for and worshipped truly was.
- ...
- When I opened my eyes again, familiar ceremonial music drifted into my ears, and before me stood my father and stepmother, welcoming the three gods from the Three Great Divine Houses.
- Startled, I looked around.
- The surroundings were so painfully familiar that I froze.
- This was the Divine Pairing Ceremony... from five years ago.
- I hadn't even had time to gather my bearings when a voice rang out beside me.
- "I will marry Theron."
- Theron...
- The instant I heard that name, my body instinctively trembled as five years of hell came crashing back into my mind.
- Looking up, I saw Elysia standing before Theron with her head lowered shyly. Yet the moment our eyes met, I caught the fleeting gleam of triumph in hers.
- In that single instant, I knew.
- She had been reborn too.
- And in this life, she intended to steal my marriage... and the future that had once been mine.
- The agony of having my heart pierced still lingered in my chest, but it was overwhelmed by an immense sense of relief when I realized I had finally escaped the living nightmare of my previous life.
- Elysia had willingly offered herself as the sacrificial lamb.
- Naturally, I would grant her wish.
- "Daphne, why aren't you saying anything?"
- When she returned, Elysia suddenly covered her mouth with a giggle, her tone dripping with mockery as a malicious glint flashed through her blue eyes.
- "Don't tell me you wanted to choose Theron too?"
- She burst into laughter.
- "But what a shame. I chose Theron first. And you... you can't steal my marriage."
- She deliberately raised her voice, and murmurs instantly rippled through the grand hall. Several gods even let out mocking chuckles at my expense, causing my father, Zeus' expression to darken.
- "Daphne, make your choice already. Don't waste everyone's time."
- He snapped impatiently.
- "And don't even think about stealing your stepsister's future husband."
- Hearing those words, all I felt was an icy chill spreading through my heart.
- The selfish one who always wanted to take everything from others, was Elysia.
- Not me.
- And I would never fight over a bastard like Theron.
- "I just want to congratulate you on winning the husband you've always wanted, Elysia."
- I shrugged and smiled sweetly at her.
- "Theron is yours, and I have no intention of competing for him."
- I replied coolly, but Elysia had already walked toward me.
- "Oh, my dear sister, there's no need to pretend you're above it all. Just admit you're jealous."
- With graceful steps, Elysia reached for my hand and leaned in to whisper beside my ear.
- "For the sake of us being family, I can give you a useful piece of advice."
- She chuckled softly.
- "You could choose Xander. Sure, he isn't even one-tenth the man Theron is, but at least he's still capable..."
- She clicked her tongue.
- "He suits a foolish loser like you perfectly. The two of you can make a pair of failures together."
- Elysia's malicious laughter echoed through my mind as I glanced at Xander, who stood nearby in his formal ceremonial attire, looking every bit the dignified prince.
- Then I slowly turned my gaze toward Darius, the son of Apollo, who had remained silent from beginning to end.
- Unlike Theron and Xander, who possessed both power and prestige, Darius was regarded as the least promising of them all.
- There were even rumors that he had never awakened the power of the sun, making him nothing more than a worthless cripple.
- Clenching my hands into fists, I pressed my lips together.
- Then I strode straight ahead.
- Passing by Xander without a second glance, I stopped before Darius.
- Meeting the astonished look in his eyes, I curved my lips into a faint smile and slowly declared,
- "I will marry him."
