Chapter 5 Baby Daddy

  • Deric had an arm wrapped around my waist as he guided me toward the bar. With a simple gesture of his hand, the bartender mixed a drink and slid it over to me. I took a sip and frowned. "This is orange juice," I complained.
  • Deric grinned in amusement. "There’s a hint of alcohol in there. I’m not about to let you get wasted in my bar, Kerry."
  • "Why not?" I said with a pout. "I want something stronger."
  • "Is this because of your brother? Are you jealous that he’s down there having fun with his fuck buddy?"
  • "Are you trying to make me feel worse?"
  • "Obviously not. I’m just saying, Silas is a dumbass. You can’t let him get what he wants by acting like this. If he’s trying to make you jealous, why don’t you do the same to him?"
  • Deric took the glass from my hand and placed it aside. Seated on the barstool with his legs parted, he reached for my hand and pulled me off my seat, guiding me to stand between his legs. I leaned back slightly, aware of how intimate this position might appear to others. If Silas saw us, I doubted he’d be happy.
  • "You’ve got a willing accomplice right here, baby," Deric said.
  • "Deric... Don’t."
  • "Hush, I’m not asking you to betray him," he murmured. Still, his hand buried itself in the back of my hair as he nuzzled into the crook of my neck. His desire was unmistakable. He whispered into my ear how utterly intoxicating my scent was. I raised my hand to push him away, but he caught it, bringing my knuckles to his lips to place gentle kisses on them.
  • "Deric," I said in warning. There might have been a time when I felt myself falling for him, but that was in the past. Sure, Deric was attractive and sometimes more level-headed than Silas. I would always be grateful to him for protecting me when even my family had no memories of me. But I was with Silas now, and we had a child together. Silas might be mad at me now, but he respected me enough to ignore Tammy’s flirting and not act on it. I wouldn’t be the one to cheat.
  • "Wait for it," Deric whispered, his lips brushing against my earlobe.
  • Before I could ask what he was talking about, an arm yanked me out of Deric’s hold. Deric let go of me easily, though he put on a show of being annoyed by the sudden interruption.
  • "What do you want?" he asked.
  • "Are you fucking kidding me right now?" Silas hissed. If looks could kill, Deric would have been dead a hundred times over. Silas seemed ready to attack the other vampire then and there. His nails dug harshly into my arm, hard enough to leave marks.
  • "Silas," I protested, trying to pull away, but it only made him glare at me with fiery red eyes.
  • "Kerry, what the fuck?!"
  • "We were just talking, Silas."
  • "Talking?! He had his hand on your ass! That’s talking?"
  • "Why do you care, anyway?" Deric chipped in, casually twirling my unfinished glass of orange juice. His nonchalant demeanor only enraged Silas further, and I had to bite back a laugh. Deric knew exactly how to rile him up.
  • "Fuck you," Silas growled.
  • "No, thank you. But I’ll gladly fuck her. She’s a catch. If you don’t want her, pass her to me. I bet I can fuck her much better than you do," Deric said with a smirk.
  • Silas withdrew his claws from my arm just in time to stop himself from breaking skin. It was clear he was holding back, struggling not to start a fight. Given that we were in Deric’s territory, Silas would be at a disadvantage if things got violent.
  • "Silas, let’s just go," I urged, breaking the tension. Then, glancing at Deric, I added, "We’ll talk some other time."
  • "Like fucking hell you will," Silas snapped, grabbing my hand and dragging me out of the bar.
  • I waved at Deric over my shoulder as he winked at me.
  • Once outside the bar, I hurriedly slid into the driver’s seat before Silas could. "I wanna drive," I said.
  • Silas hesitated. "You’re gonna get us killed."
  • Despite his reluctance, he got into the passenger seat and handed me the keys. I started the car and pulled out of the driveway effortlessly. I was getting really good at this, actually.
  • We drove in silence. I figured Silas was still pissed about what happened, but I wasn’t going back to ignoring each other. If he noticed I wasn’t driving back to the house, he didn’t say anything. When I finally parked the car by the side of the road, I flashed him a victorious grin. He rolled his eyes in response.
  • I stepped out of the car, breathing in the crisp, fresh air. Elthon Forest looked just as I remembered it—some memories here were good, others not so good, but the nostalgia was welcome. It felt nice to be somewhere familiar with someone I loved. For the first time in weeks, it felt like the world wasn’t falling apart.
  • Silas leaned against the car, arms crossed, looking bored but still indulging me. He didn’t even ask why I’d brought him here.
  • "You know," I began, "I lost my virginity here."
  • As expected, his face darkened. "I didn’t ask."
  • "Ha! It’s a joke, obviously."
  • "Not a funny one," he grumbled.
  • I blew kisses at him, which only made him scoff. Damn, he was so hard to please. Smiling, I edged closer to him, hoping my expression was as cute as I imagined. Possessive, jealous, and a bit obsessive—how was it possible that such dark traits could actually seem attractive?
  • I rested my hand on his chest and leaned on my toes. He lowered his head, helping me meet his lips. The kiss was hot, his tongue sliding into my mouth as if savoring me, and I welcomed it eagerly. The taste of him made my body heat up. His hand slid down to my ass, squeezing it possessively.
  • I pulled back before things could get too heated. The low growl of displeasure he let out was almost animalistic, and it sent a thrill through me. I loved that I could make him lose control like this.
  • Stepping back slowly, I gave him a coy smile. Hoping to appear sultry and graceful, I pulled my shirt off over my head. My fingers moved to undo my jeans. This wasn’t exactly ideal clothing for a strip tease, but it was effective enough, judging by the way his eyes darkened as they followed my every movement.
  • The chill of the evening air prickled my skin with goosebumps, but I didn’t care.
  • "Kerry," Silas called, his voice low and tense. He didn’t move. He simply stood there, hands twitching at his sides. I could tell he was barely restraining himself. How thrilling—it was intoxicating to know this incredibly attractive man wanted me so much.
  • I smiled as his tongue flicked across his sharp fangs. Memories of those fangs sinking into my flesh nearly made me lightheaded. There was no fear now—just lust.
  • Reaching behind me, I unhooked my bra. It slid off my shoulders and pooled on the ground along with the rest of my clothes.
  • "Come on then, baby daddy," I teased.
  • Silas didn’t need to be told twice. In the blink of an eye, he was by my side.
  • "Fuck," he groaned, burying his hands in my hair and tugging gently. His eyes had darkened to a deep red, almost black with desire. "I’m going to fuck you so good, you won’t remember anyone else."
  • "You wanna give me another baby?" I teased, smiling up at him.
  • The words seemed to strike a nerve. With surprising ease, he hoisted me into his arms, his strength on full display. It was rare for him to use it like this, and it made my breath catch. So... he had a breeding kink? Interesting.
  • "You bet, baby," he growled. "By the time I’m done with you, you’ll be dripping my cum."
  • The look in his eyes told me he wasn’t making an idle promise. I knew he wouldn’t disappoint.
