• There was a pile of papers in front of him... Letters maybe. Alpha Arnold was writing one himself. He didn't say anything nor did Violet try. She sat rigidly, her heart pounding in her chest. The memories from her previous visit made her skin crawl.
• Reminding herself of all the good things Mrs. Styles told her while they were coming here, Violet somehow calmed down. It wasn't going to lead to punishment. She told herself. She wouldn't be coming here with Mrs. Styles if it was about punishment.
