Chapter 8: I Never Forget, Gabrielle Crisostomo

  • -=Jayden's Point of View=-
  • Jayden Andrada never forgets!
  • I would never in a million years forget the mistake that stupid woman made toward me.
  • What does she think? I'll let it slide since she admitted her mistake and apologized to me.
  • I lost a billion-dollar account just because she didn't make sure that she was kidnapping the right person.
  • When I got to the office that morning, the first thing I did was meet with Arman.
  • Arman is the private investigator I hired to investigate the woman who abducted me, and I trust Arman to get the information I needed in a short amount of time.
  • "Thank you," he said before leaving me with the file on that woman.
  • "Amy, I didn't want to be disturbed," I told my secretary after calling her on the private line.
  • I immediately opened the brown folder, where I immediately saw her picture.
  • According to the report, her real name is Gabrielle Crisostomo, but she preferred to be called Gabby.
  • I saw several pictures from the folder; she looks really different compared to the time when I saw her in the bar, looking sophisticated and mature.
  • She looked so simple and innocent, which I approved, but I immediately dismissed that thought since this is not the time to admire her looks because I needed to make her pay.
  • I tried to compare Gabby's picture with Mel's, if I was going to be honest, Mel is actually my usual preference, but there was something about Gabby that made me interested in her; hence, if I was going to choose, I would go with Gabby anytime.
  • "Shit!" I cursed when I suddenly remembered the time I kissed her, and right this instant, I felt my member reacting as if still feeling the lust from that day.
  • "Gabby..."
  • For some reason, I enjoyed saying her words, and again, I felt the heat of lust enveloping me.
  • I couldn't deny the sexual attraction I was feeling toward that girl, and an idea popped into my head, which I'm going to execute this coming Monday.
  • But first, I needed to prepare everything before Monday came, and by that time, she would get what she deserved.
  • "Amy, get here."
  • After thinking about the things I will be needing to do, I called my secretary in my office.
  • "Do I have any important appointments for the next two weeks?" I asked her as soon as she got inside.
  • She checked the tablet in her hand and checked my schedule, and after a few minutes, she finally lifted her head and looked at me.
  • "You don't have any important meetings for the next two weeks," she answered.
  • "Good, I want you to cancel all my appointments for the next two weeks; actually, make it until further notice. I'm going on vacation," I said, smiling wickedly.
  • I could see curiosity in Amy's eyes, but she didn't make any comment. I knew she was surprised since I seldom go on vacation.
  • After I was done giving her further instructions, she finally returned to her table, leaving me in my office. The smile on my face was still visible.
  • "Gabrielle Crisostomo, you're going to have the taste of your own medicine," I thought to myself as the smile on my face widened even more.
  • -=Gabby's Point of View=-
  • I woke up the following morning feeling a little tired because, just like the previous nights, I had nightmares.
  • During the weekend, I was really anticipating that I would be arrested because of what I did to Jayden, but even after the weekend ended, nothing out of the norm happened, which scared me even more.
  • The thought of the unknown was scarier compared to the things that were expected to happen.
  • "Monday," I suddenly remembered, and I couldn't stop the smile forming on my lips when I realized that today is Monday, which means I have to go to work.
  • I hated Monday mornings before since it was the first day of work, but now I couldn't wait to go to work.
  • So, I immediately got out of bed, took a quick shower, and readied myself to go to work, and it only took me almost an hour to do all those things.
  • "Good morning, Gabby," the morning guard, Gardo, greeted me.
  • "Good morning," I replied, trying to keep a smile on my face while he inspected my bag.
  • After just a few seconds, I was good to go, so I got inside and clocked in. My shift would start at exactly seven a.m.
  • "Good morning, Gab, you look horrible," she said with a grin on her face.
  • "You don't have to state the obvious, I have mirrors at home," I answered with an annoyed expression.
  • I know how I looked, and it was not surprising since I didn't have enough proper sleep, and the anxiety is killing me. It did cross my mind to turn myself in and confess what I did just to end this misery.
  • "Calm down, Gabby; you're overthinking, that dude is probably too busy making money to waste any time on you, unless..."
  • "Unless what?" I asked when she intentionally didn't finish her sentence.
  • "Unless he likes you," she finally continued.
  • "That's impossible, Reg, you knew the women who were being linked to that man, supermodels, celebrities, and there was no way he would like me," I told her, quite certain about it.
  • "Stop belittling yourself, Gabby, you're also beautiful, at least second to me," she said, which finally made me laugh.
  • In all fairness, there are a lot of people who tell me that I am beautiful, but I opted to ignore them and not take them seriously.
  • At exactly seven in the morning, the guard allowed the clients to get inside, and a few minutes later we finally started working.
  • Morning is the busiest day of the week, which I prefer since I was hoping that it would take my mind off Jayden.
  • I was so focused on serving my client, that I didn't even realize the time, so I was surprised when Regina told me that it was already lunchtime.
  • We asked permission from our manager first before going on lunch break.
  • There weren't many customers in the branch anyway, so she allowed Regina and me to go on lunch together.
  • "Where do you want to eat?" I asked her.
  • "Anywhere cheaper, you know I'm broke," she replied.
  • What she was earning as a bank teller is not enough because of all her responsibilities at home, so I understood her situation, and as much as I wanted to treat her to a really nice restaurant, I am also broke because of the money I spent when I abducted Jayden.
  • Since we were both broke, we decided to go to a nearby burger stand that offers a buy one, get one promo, and since we're not that hungry, we decided to just share the burgers.
  • "I am planning to go to Dubai," Regina said all of the sudden.
  • "Are you serious?" I asked, but I could see the certainty in her eyes, and I couldn't help, but feel sad if that happened.
  • "Yeah, but it's not decided yet, but I'm seriously thinking about it. You knew how much responsibility I have with my family, and what I am making from the bank is not enough for us," she said with a solemn look on her face.
  • She appeared to be too cheerful, but I could tell that she was just trying to act that way, because deep inside, she's having a hard time being responsible for her siblings.
  • "Is there no other way?" I inquired; I understand she is doing it for her family, but it will be difficult for me once she departs; she is, after all, my best friend.
  • "Well, there is another way," she suddenly said.
  • "What's that?" I asked, already thinking of helping her not to leave the country.
  • "That's it. If I managed to snatch a wealthy husband, then I wouldn't have to go to Dubai," she answered calmly, but I could see from behind her eyes the humor that she was trying to hide.
  • "You're really crazy, Regina!" I screamed at her.
  • "Just kidding, you're so serious, Gabby, and besides, it was just a plan, and do you think I would trust my family to just anyone?" She asked where her left eyebrow had been raised.
  • After finishing our meal, we decided to return to the bank and were surprised by the number of people inside.
  • Usually, during this time, there are not many customers, considering that it is still the lunch hour.
  • "Why are there so many people?" I heard Regina ask.
  • "Maybe there is a celebrity inside," I said.
  • We were only a few feet from the door when a man in black stopped us; luckily, the morning guard noticed us and explained to the man that we both work in this bank.
  • "What's that all about?" I asked Regina, while still thinking about the man who stopped us.
  • I was still looking at the same man, who was stopping anyone from getting inside, but when I didn't hear anything from Regina, I immediately looked at her face and noticed her face getting pale.
  • "What's wrong?" I asked, worried, and then noticed her looking in front of us, so I followed her gaze, only to be stunned when I finally saw what she was looking at.
  • I could sense danger from the way he looks at me, and I would rather pass out than continue looking at him, but for some reason, I couldn't take my gaze away from him.
  • My focus was on Jayden, and I felt that we were the only people in the bank, so I was startled when I felt someone holding my arm, and when I looked, I realized it was just our manager.
  • "Ma'am..." The only word that passed my lips.
  • "Mr. Andrada has been waiting for you for a while now," she said.
  • She seemed overjoyed to have someone like Jayden Andrada visit our home, but if she only knew why he was here, she'd probably feel sorry for me.
  • I couldn't help but back away when Jayden suddenly stood up and walked toward me. My heart was beating so fast waiting for him to come to me that I stopped myself from turning around and running away from this place because I knew that even if I did, the man outside who I think is his bodyguard would stop me.
  • I was almost out of breath as the distance between us got smaller and smaller until he stopped a foot away from me, and I suddenly stiffened when he brought his face closer to my ear, I couldn't help but smell his masculine scent mixed with the expensive perfume he wore.
  • It was as if all the hair in my body suddenly stood up when he finally spoke.
  • "I never forget," was the only thing that passed his lips, but it was enough to shake me from my core, and when I looked at his face, I could see a threatening smile on his lips.
  • I was petrified as I stood rooted in the ground.
  • He didn't stay for so long, and when he left, I looked at Regina, hoping that she could tell me what I needed to do, but based on her reaction, I could tell that she was also thinking the same thing.
  • Nothing and no one could stop Jayden Andrada from exacting his vengeance on me.
