Chapter 7

  • Kade
  • I stood with a horrid expression for another second, pinching myself to clear my doubt whether I was still dreaming or it was reality. But it turned out to be a freaking reality.
  • I maintained a decent distance from her, watching her keenly as she submitted to me. While she stood a mere 5'8, I towered her in height greatly at a whopping 6'4, making me have a good view of her from the crown of her head to the sole of her feet. I couldn't help but notice how her small figure trembled greatly as my aura blasted her, making her lean on the canopy stand for support.
  • Weak.
  • I noticed her shivering as the shabby long sleeve dress she wore wasn't doing justice to her, exposing her pale skin to cold as her tiny fingers hugged her slim waist that was hidden in her floral gown. Her odd-looking dirty wavy strawberry hair that rested on her wide hips spiked my curiosity as I stared at it strangely. It was rare for a wolf to have strawberry-coloured hair.
  • Who was she?
  • The more my piercing gaze roamed her body, searching for answers, trying to read her, the more I drowned in the sea of confusion.
  • How could someone that appeared like a slave with dry, tangled hair that looked like it hadn't been shampooed for years, with scratches on her body as if it were decorations smell this good?
  • How was that possible?
  • As much as I wanted to ignore her, I couldn't help this burning desire inside of me that longed to know more about her. With my eyes still glued to her small frame, realization dawned on me that it was the first time someone captured my complete attention. No one had captured my full attention, not even Silvius. But this little lady had gotten my complete attention effortlessly.
  • Strange.
  • I cocked my head to the side, squinting my eyes that roamed her body as they grew darker as if to read this tiny fragile thing in front of me. I felt the urge to know more about her, to know why she appeared shabbily to the Moon ball, to know who she was, to know what she calls herself, what everyone calls her.
  • I drew in sharp breaths before exhaling slowly as my throat itched to talk to my mate, to know what she sounds like.
  • "What is your name?" I asked in a more beastly than manly tone, making Tyson whimper for frightening my mate with my first words.
  • I watched her small mouth gasp as her eyes widened in shock before she steadied her breath and tried to bury the feelings but her red-stained cheeks betrayed her. Instead of replying to me, she took her time, lost in her thoughts. I could sense a lot of decisions going on in her head as she fought the urge to disobey me, but at the same time, she kept mute.
  • "I asked a question that deserves an answer," I growled as I was running out of patience as Tyson too won't stop being restless, pressing to know more about her. Nobody had ever made me wait for an answer, not even other Alphas nor Silvius. But this thing was making me wait for an answer.
  • Interestingly strange.
  • "Omega. The name is Omega," Her shaky voice ran in my ears like a bell as I committed it to memory immediately. I hadn't heard anything like that before. As cracked as it was, it sounded melodious, it sounded perfect.
  • Sweet scent with a melodious voice.
  • I was about to get lost in the sweetness of her melodious voice when realization hit me like a ton of bricks. She just called herself an Omega or my ears were malfunctioning?
  • "You are an Omega?" I asked with uttermost disgust, taking a step away from her and ignoring Tyson's whimpering as he doesn't want me to frighten our mate.
  • Mate?
  • I frowned at that declaration.
  • "I am," She replied, bowing her head in shame as I could taste her fears, anxieties and frustrations on the tip of my tongue.
  • I froze in my tracks as my heart skipped two beats at the confession. Confusion hit me from different angles as I began to sweat even in the open air. My mate was an Omega.
  • Surely the Moon goddess won't do this to me. Anything but Omegas!
  • An Alpha Mated to a freaking Omega?!
  • Maybe I should rephrase that.
  • The Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, the most ferocious Alpha was mated to an Omega?
  • Really? Moon goddess?
  • Omegas were mated to Omegas and Alpha were mated to Alphas, but it seemed the Moon goddess was playing games with me.
  • If this was a game, she should stop it at once as I was not a man of games.
  • I let my gaze remain on the bright full moon that stared at me in return as if trying to communicate with me, telling me to accept my destiny. With pleading eyes and bowed head, I opened my heart, trying to connect to her, pleading with her to reverse my destiny. I cannot accept an Omega as my mate, not after what I had gone through.
  • All my life, I desired a mate as tough as I was, as strong-willed as I was, as ruthless as I was, a mate of equal status, that will run the pack together with me with an iron fist. A mate who would be everything I loved, but standing in front of me was everything I hated.
  • I couldn't believe I travelled for hours with high hopes and expectations to meet...this. A freaking Omega.
  • What a waste of time.
  • Not only did she freak me out with her low status, as I have always hated low-life people, but she also awakened my fears, my wounded soul and my broken heart, shattering it into pieces once more as pains of the past flooded my memory.
  • No! This wasn't going to happen twice.
  • Shunning Tyson's incessant whimpering and focusing on this tiny frightened thing that wouldn't stop shivering, I stared at her, this time with pure hatred as a thought ran through my mind. I didn't care if it was the most painful thing but I will be putting myself first this time.
  • I took a few steps toward her as my face grew darker with rage, "I, Alpha Kade Otto, reject..."
  • "No!" She screamed, clinging to her chest as I could sense great pain, radiating inside her already.
