• As I slowly regained consciousness, the world around me came back into focus. The throbbing pain in my head and the stinging ache in my neck reminded me of the horrifying events that had just unfolded. Brandon had choked me, his grip tightening around my throat until everything went dark. The next thing I remember was being thrown violently onto the floor, the impact leaving me gasping for breath and struggling to comprehend what had happened.
