Chapter 17

  • Adira pulled him and locked her lips with his. He sucked his lips gently, not biting, but only sandwiching his upper.
  • As she does, Chadwick remembered the words he heard before his wife pulled him for a kiss.
  • [“You seduced me first.”]
  • That voice penetrated inside his ears again and again. He got goosebumps. He wanted to run recklessly, away from Adira, but as soon as she extended her tongue and pressed it against the seam of his lips, his mind became a mess.
  • It felt like his body was going to melt from pleasure, so extreme he couldn’t express it. The world he had known seems shattered into pieces, and a new one born as he realized it: the woman before him is his wife. And she’s kissing him.
  • Unable to contain himself, Chadwick held her waist with his left hand and pinned her close to his body as he kissed her hard.
  • He bent her a little, giving support to her with his hand on her back and just got lost in the moment. He slowly extended his tongue to meet hers and she accepted his invitation.
  • “Hmmm,” a gentle moan vibrated on her neck.
  • He’s not sure if his kiss ignited that sound, but he wanted to hear more. And so, he made the kiss deeper, so deep he almost knocks out the air in her lungs.
  • Adira, who could not breathe, tilted her head to the other side and opened her mouth widely; simply to get some air.
  • “Ahhhh…Hmf!”
  • But as soon as she opened her mouth, Chadwick delved inside of her as if telling her not to escape.
  • “Argh,” she groaned.
  • She’s the one who ignited the kiss, but it seems the table flipped, and it was him who’s taking control.
  • Therefore, as she let him enter her mouth vigorously, Adira wrapped her hands around his neck. She pulled her lips away, which Chadwick searched for again by leaning closer with his half-opened eyes.
  • Before he could beg her to come back and kiss him again, Adira licked the corner of his lips with tip of her tongue.
  • Shivers.
  • That sent him shivers down to his bone.
  • Unlike the fast french kiss before, the kiss this time is so slow, as if she’s savoring each second.
  • It drove him crazy.
  • The way she slowly nibbled his lower lip, the gently bite it as if marking him hers, put him in an ecstasy he didn’t know it actually exist.
  • He tilted his head. Their noses bumped each other.
  • His left hand tightened around her waist and suddenly, he lifted her up to sit above the kitchen sink.
  • How the hell did he carry her with just his left hand?
  • He does not know and will not bother knowing. All he wanted right now was to kiss his wife and be drowned at the sensation it gives.
  • ‘Then, am I feeling like this because I like her?’ Chadwick asked himself.
  • He denied it.
  • Chadwick believes that it isn’t his feelings which pushed him to kiss her back, but the alcohol he drank before.
  • Adira gave him the alcohol, and the substance made his mind messy as it can be.
  • “Hmmm,” Adira moaned. Seated on the sink, she’s in level higher than him so she had to bend her head down.
  • Not that she had hard time doing, since Chadwick’s left hand reached for her nape and pulled her closer, letting her forehead rest on his as they slow kissed turned fiery at the moment.
  • In the quiet space, only the sloppy sounds of their lips clashing with each other and their mingled saliva resonated in the air.
  • Every time she opened her mouth, there was Chadwick who welcomed her heavy breath and hot tongue. They moved in sync, up and down, nibbling every corner of their mouth.
  • Heat rose in Chadwick’s closed eyes. A thick layer of excitement wrapped around his whole body that he wanted to explore more than tasting that lips.
  • What’s wrong? They are married anyway.
  • He’s so into the current happiness it brings that he couldn’t think straight.
  • The small body that was moving above, the way her chest moves up and down, and the sweet smell of him have fueled his urges.
  • His hand, on her nape, went down again. He pushed her closer to him, and now, her lower body was in contact with the bare mass of heat.
  • He rained kisses on her lips, bit them. And then, Adira felt his hand roaming around her back as if hesitating whether he could touch her bare skin.
  • Adira felt a prickling sensation through the fabric and struggled against him, surprised by the sudden contact.
  • As she pulled away, she accidentally leaned his left hand to his injured right arm with a cast.
  • “Ahhh!” Chadwick screamed in agony.
  • They quickly separated and looked at the cast around his right arm.
  • Right.
  • Chadwick is still injured.
  • “Ohhh, sorry,” Adira murmured.
  • Hearing her words, the reality sank in him.
  • He kissed her.
  • He kissed his wife whom he married without love.
  • As if possessed by a ghost and then regained consciousness afterward, Chadwick stepped back with pale face.
  • Adira looked at his face that is white as his expression was blank. It seemed he was truly shocked.
  • She, then, saw his visible hand clenched into a fist. The veins on his wrist are swelling. As she saw this, she realized that Chadwick might have regained his senses and felt the disgust of kissing someone like Elena.
  • He despises her more than anyone else; that’s what she thought.
  • But no.
  • Chadwick isn’t disgusted. He is just so confused about what the hell just happened, until he saw the bottle of cocktail they have shared before.
  • ‘Yes. The alcohol. It is the alcohol’s fault!’
  • He wanted to say that, but all he could do was open and close his mouth like a fish out of water. Chadwick eventually did nothing and left the kitchen like a man running away while covering his lips.
  • He ran recklessly inside his room. After a while, he stopped and looked down at his trembling hands.
  • “What…”
  • The texture of Adira’s nape, which he had touched, remained. Even the sensation of her lips he kissed for a short time.
  • He seemed able to immediately draw the shape of her lips, or guess the warmth of them.
  • “I’m just drunk,” he sobbed without tears, then roughly brushed his palms on his skin.
  • The next time he sees her, he does not know what future awaits for him. He spent the night thinking how he would meet his wife again, until the sun rose and morning has broken.
  • Staying up so late, Chadwick woke up with dried throat, as he forgot to drink water last night before going to bed.
  • Well, he locked himself inside and was so afraid to bump onto Adira by chance.
  • However, since he was so thirsty, he forgot his plan of avoiding his wife, and he leisurely walked out of his room.
  • At the same time, Adira just got out from her room.
  • The world stopped.
  • As soon as their eyes met, it seemed the surroundings muted down, only leaving Chadwick’s pounding heart inside his chest.
  • He does not want to meet her yet.
  • He hates standing in this awkward position. However, he had no choice but to face this.
  • The first thing that he wanted to say is to greet her a good morning. But he changed his mind when he noticed her all dressed up.
  • “Are you going to work?” he asked.
  • “Good morning,” she answered differently, then smiled at him as if last night’s incident was just a dream. “I had to go to work today. So, I can’t take care of you. But don’t worry. I already called Neil to come over and look for you.”
  • He could not respond.
  • Yesterday, he was so sure he did not need Adira’s help. So why is he getting sad that she’s leaving him for work? Like a kid who does not want to let his mom go.
  • Is it because she fed him last night?
  • ‘What fed? Food or lips?’
  • He blushed at his own thoughts and tried his best to eradicate it away.
  • “I see. Okay,” he said, the forging a cough.
  • “Hmm. Bye.”
  • She gave him a simple bid before she stepped towards the exit. But before she could go out, Adira stopped and looked around.
  • “Last night,” she said.
  • He stared at her.
  • “You were so drunk. Maybe you could not remember what happened,” she said.
  • Could not remember?
  • No way. Chadwick could recall even the smallest details of their wild kiss!
  • “Actually, I lied to you,” she added. “The cocktail I gave you has alcohol. It is so strong, no wonder you behaved so indifferently. Not that I hate it.”
  • “...”
  • “But since I am the villain, I won’t apologize.”
  • “...”
  • “Snow white accepted the poisoned apple from the villain. So, you should learn from that. Okay?”
  • She winked at him and left the house.
  • That’s it.
  • Chadwick now can feel at ease knowing that it is the alcohol which only made him so strange last night.
  • For that, he can use the excuse of being drunk to pretend he could not remember anything and go back to his usual life just like before.
  • Smiling widely, Chadwick walked towards the kitchen. He grabbed an empty glass and poured water in it. He took a sip of the water, and accidentally saw the bottle of cocktail that they finished last night, there inside the trash bin.
  • “Huh,” he scoffed. “She really tried her best to erase all evidence.”
  • He decided to ignore the bottle, not until he saw the clear content written below the empty bottle.
  • His eyes stayed there, as if making sure if he read it right or not.
  • “0% alcohol content,” he murmured.
