  • After stopping at a café and purchasing the most delicious croissants along with two large cups of espresso generously topped with cream, the car parked in front of the oncology clinic. For the first time, I observed its elegant façade adorned in light shades of green and soft beige. Anxiously, I entered the building because conversing with my mother had been a soothing balm amid my rather tumultuous life. Witnessing Judy's animated and clear-minded demeanor, her laughter and trivial chatter, brought happiness and reminded me of the woman she had always been. Despite the harsh reality of Andrew Dixon's death sinking in, she remained unfazed. Yet, beneath it all, a trace of sadness lingered in her gaze.
  • Before heading to her room, I decided to stop by Dr. Monique's office as I needed an update on her treatment progress and the prospects concerning my mother's illness. As always, she greeted me at the door with a professional yet friendly smile.
