Chapter 3
- Willa's POV
- The alpha refused us bluntly when granny barely even finished her plea.
- Anger of humiliation exploded inside me.
- Of all the packs that I had been to, this one was the worst! Though I was hated before, at least those packs hated me for a reason!
- "Granny, let's go!" I pulled granny on the arm, dodging the Alpha's eyes. I would definitely offend him if he saw the hatred in my eyes.
- The red-haired woman snorted with contempt.
- "Willa--" Granny wouldn't move even after their insult. We needed a pack.
- I needed a pack.
- "We don't need them!" I rose my voice as I turned to granny. She sighed with a sad look. The red-haired woman let out a short laugh at my outburst, and my ears turned scarlet.
- Alpha Kirsch glared at her, and she just shrugged.
- "I was hoping we could find a home here, Willa," Granny said slowly. Of all the times that we moved before, granny never sounded so sad.
- It broke my heart.
- I blinked in shock as tears brimmed my eyes. Every time I messed up, granny would just up and leave with me. I never thought she might want a different life.
- It burned to bow down at the horrible Alpha to beg for acceptance, but I turned and faced the cold Alpha reluctantly, swallowing my pride: "Please, I'm sorry but--"
- Alpha Kirsch rose a finger and stopped my words, he wasn't even looking at me.
- I bit my lips, feeling burned. The red-haired woman giggled. I wished I could eat her alive with my glare. What had she got against me?!
- Right at that moment, I smelled something familiar in the air and my blood froze. I turned around slowly in fear. Only a few meters away, stood Alpha Jason, Liam's father.
- "Well, well, well." Jason clapped his hands, smiling at the cold Alpha, "I have heard Alpha's Kirsch's good name, but I didn't know you were THIS good. You found me my lost lamb already!"
- Granny looked genuinely shocked when Jason appeared in front of us.
- I wasn't.
- Of course Jason was going to hunt us down, and of course, he had his alpha friends to his help.
- "You are so predictable, Scarlett." Jason smirked at granny, "I knew you would turn to the Gemini Crescent for help. All I needed was a phone call."
- My blood ran cold.
- Alpha Kirsch was helping Jason?! Good name my ass!
- There was little chance of us to escape from one alpha, let alone two. I always thought the rogues were our worst enemies, yet I never knew I would die at the hands of two alphas.
- "Come home, little lamb, and I'll forgive you." Jason held his hand to me. It was the hand of the devil. I flinched as I grabbed granny's arm tight out of fear.
- [Granny.] I muttered, and I could hear the fear in my own voice.
- [Don't be afraid.] Granny answered sternly, and at that moment I almost feel like she was also an Alpha! Her dominance calmed my fear a little.
- "You can have my dead body!" I bared my teeth at Jason, trying to hide my fear with shouting.
- [I'll stall them, and you make a run for it. Remember everything I taught you. I'll catch up with you when I can.] Granny gripped my hand.
- She meant "IF I can".
- Granny was good, but she was 54. There was no chance for her to survive two Alphas' attacks. Not to mentions their underlings!
- [Granny! I won't leave you!] Desperation caught me tight as I realized granny's intention, I nearly burst into tears, [I only have you...]
- [Willa, you are strong and independent! You will be fine. Remember to use the ring!]
- The ring. Granny made it for me when I was seven. But what good could that do?! I could last on it for a few days tops.
- Jason stepped up.
- I pulled out my knife by instinct, and granny shifted into her wolf form. Her shifting triggered a lot of the wolves to shift. All three of Alpha Kirsch's wolves and the five wolves that Jason took with him.
- Granny had the battle one to ten.
- Only the two Alphas and I were still in our human forms now. I pressed the blade to my hand, ready to battle. But Alpha Kirsch pulled my wrist away from my blade before I could slash my palm.
- "What are you doing?!" Alpha Kirsch exclaimed in shock.
- "Let go of me!" I bared my teeth at him, stabbing the knife into his hand. He hissed at the pain before he took my knife away, but he didn't let go.
- Blood oozed out of his hand, and the red-haired she-wolf bared her teeth at me.
- I rose my wrist to my lips, trying to bite myself. I needed my blood. But Alpha Kirsch took my other hand and gripped both of my hands with one. I was held in a begging position, which made I want to bite him even more.
- Though he lowered my hands so it wasn't too uncomfortable, I couldn't break free.
- "Thanks a lot, Alpha Kirsch." Jason had a vicious smile, walking toward me, "You are a crafty little wolfless, aren't you?"
- The viciousness in his voice rose fear in me.
- "You are wolfless?" Alpha Kirsch bent his head to ask me in a surprised but happy tone. Happy cause he could mock me for not having my wolf? How insecure was he?!
- "I WILL have my wolf in two months, AND my revenge if you dare let me live today!" I bared my teeth at Alpha Kirsch, furious at his taunting.
- The smile disappeared from his face.
- Alpha Kirsch blinked in confusion. His eyes flickered to the beast inside him before he nodded slightly: "You think you can still get your wolf before you turn 18, is that it?"
- If you don't shift before you are 18, you would never shift. No one believes late boomers could be that late though, and obviously, he didn't either.
- I rolled my eyes, not answering. Alpha Kirsch didn't laugh at me this time. He turned to Jason: "You can't have her."
- "Of course, I wouldn't expect to get her free. Name your price, I'll buy my wolf from you." Jason smiled at Alpha Kirsch.
- "What wolf? She's wolfless." Alpha Kirsch smirked, having his fun with Jason.
- "You take me back, and I'll burn down your whole fucking pack!" I shouted at Jason to hide my fear.
- I would have a fate much worse than death if he got me.
- "Did you hear that?!" Jason complained to Alpha Kirsch, "She murdered my son and now she threatens me!"
- "Liam died? How weak IS he?!" I blurted out, frowning in confusion. A few drops of my blood were not supposed to do that.
- "Attempted to murder him!" Jason changed his story as he shouted at me frantically, "And you will suffer as much as he is right now!"
- "He deserves every bit of it and more!" I bared my teeth at him.
- "You poisoned him with wolfsbane!" Jason shouted so loud, I flinched a little, covering my ear with one of my hands, which was not helping much. I thought I was losing my hearings.
- Frowning, Alpha Kirsch pulled me further away from Jason as he told Jason coldly: "Calm the fuck down! No one raises a fuss on my turf."
- Jason frowned, apparently not expecting Alpha Kirsch to talk to him in such an unfriendly way.
- "He was going to rape me! Was I supposed to give him candy instead?!" I shouted, ignoring Alpha Kirsch's outburst. I tried to kick Jason but Alpha Kirsch pulled me backward. I staggered, and my kick landed on Alpha Kirsch's leg instead.
- Well, he deserved it, too.
- Alpha Kirsch glanced at me, and his eyes turned pure black, his hand shivering at fury. It was a sign of his wolf taking over nearly full control of him -- he was in rage now.
- "You are just AS horrible!" I struggled as I trod one foot on his body, struggling to break free, "You are all pedophiles, murderers! I wish I HAD killed Liam and I'll do it again!"
- "She stays with me." Alpha Kirsch took a deep breath before he turned to Jason, fury in his eyes, ignoring my foot on his waist. My struggle was in vain.
- Great, now I pissed both of them.
- "I know! She gets under your skin." Jason nodded agreeing, narrowing his eyes at me with a despised look, "She's a crafty little cunt. I'll teach her some manners before I--"
- Alpha Kirsch suddenly took a step forward, dragging me along with him as he punched Jason right in the face, making Jason fly back several meters.
- I froze in shock before I burst into laughter.
- "You like it, huh?" Alpha Kirsch glanced at me with a smirk. His eyes was back to emerald.
- Actually, he WAS handsome when he wasn't in rage.
- I pressed my lips together, staring at him nervously. I didn't annoy him so much that he would offend Jason only to lock me up in a torture dungeon, did I?
- "Leave, Jason." Alpha Kirsch turned back to Jason who just got back on his feet, "She's under my protection now."
