Chapter 7 I Lost

  • A huge blow swept over me, and my vision gradually became blurry. I couldn't hear or see anything, my eyes were just red.
  • It was the body of my child!
  • The person behind me let go of me, and I fell to the ground, holding the blood in my hands, crying incessantly until my voice became hoarse.
  • You Jia kicked me with her toe, mocking and taunting me.
  • "Mu Nan Yi, with your lowly status, you don't deserve to carry his child."
  • "Throw her out."
  • Two bodyguards came over and dragged me away. My hands, however, tightly held onto the blood, and my eyes remained motionless.
  • As I walked out of the basement, I saw Huo Chengjin standing in the backlight.
  • He leaned against a pillar entwined with white flowers, smoking a cigarette. When he saw me being dragged out, his pupils contracted, and for a moment, I saw his trembling fingers.
  • "Chengjin, will you blame me for handling Miss Mu like this?"
  • You Jia twisted her waist and walked to Huo Chengjin's side, intimately hugging his arm and asking.
  • Huo Chengjin flicked the cigarette butt, held You Jia's chin, and affectionately kissed her.
  • "I said it's up to you, let's go, aren't we hungry?"
  • "Okay."
  • You Jia glanced at me with a provocative and cold gaze, as if I were some dirty trash.
  • I laughed at myself.
  • Indeed, in the world of the wealthy, it's not something I can touch.
  • But why... did my child have to die?
  • Huo Chengjin, accompanied by You Jia, left, and I was thrown out like garbage.
  • I held my stomach, hunched over, crawling on the ground like a dog.
  • After crawling for who knows how long, I heard Yang Xue's voice.
  • Yang Xue somehow knew I was here. After seeing me in such a miserable state, her face turned pale as she rushed towards me.
  • "Nan Yi."
  • "My child... my child..."
  • "Forget about the child, let's go to the hospital right away. You'll be fine, don't be afraid."
  • Trembling, Yang Xue helped me up and took me to the hospital.
  • I sat in the car, leaning against Yang Xue's thigh, unwilling to let go of my own stomach with both hands.
  • He had just come into my womb not long ago, and I had just tasted the joy of being a mother. Why did it have to be so cruel?
  • "Huo Chengjin... I just wanted to keep this child, why did it have to be so cruel? I just wanted him to come into this world and see."
  • "Nan Yi, stop thinking about that despicable man. His status is not something you can aspire to."
  • Yes, Huo Chengjin's status is not something she can aspire to.
  • But why did I have to love him? Why?
  • In the moment when darkness engulfed me, I seemed to have returned to the day I first met Huo Chengjin.
  • He said, "Let's get married."
  • I said, "Okay."
  • I thought that would be a lifetime.
  • In the end, I lost and was wrong.
  • ...
  • "Nan Yi, Nan Yi." Yang Xue's voice echoed in my ears. I slowly opened my eyes, and the dazzling light passed before my eyes. I saw Yang Xue's face full of joy.
  • Yang Xue was ecstatic to see me open my eyes. She held my hand and choked, "You finally woke up. You've been asleep for a week."
  • "Yang Xue, I had a dream. I dreamt that Huo Chengjin was a scion of a wealthy family, and he wanted to kill my child."
  • Yang Xue's body suddenly tensed up. She lowered her head and didn't say anything, just hugged me tightly and whispered, "Nan Yi, the child is still here."
  • I trembled all over, my pupils contracted as I looked at Yang Xue's face.
  • I trembled all over and could hardly speak.
  • Yang Xue... is what she said true? My child...
  • "At that time, you were just bleeding a lot, but the child was still there. This child... is really resilient."
  • Seeing me so excited, Yang Xue placed my hand on my abdomen. I could feel that my child was still inside me, not gone.
  • "Yang Xue, we can't... let Huo Chengjin and You Jia know."
  • I grabbed Yang Xue's arm, holding onto this child that I had lost and regained, and choked to Yang Xue.
  • Yang Xue nodded, "Don't worry, the person who treated you is my classmate. I've already asked her, she won't say anything. Your medical records will state that you have already miscarried, Huo Chengjin won't suspect anything."
  • "That's good."
  • With Yang Xue's assurance, I felt relieved.
  • As long as I can protect this child, I will do anything.
  • "Can I rest now?"
  • Yang Xue patted the back of my hand and smiled at me.
  • I nodded, looking at the child in my stomach, and said gently, "I will protect her."
  • She survived in this situation, which means she is a fortunate child who wants to come into this world. So I will definitely protect this child.
  • Knowing that the child was still there, my mood improved a lot. I drank all the soup that Yang Xue stewed for me, and since I needed time to recover, the company let me go. I asked Yang Xue to help me settle my salary at the company, and the boss gave me two extra months of pay. Yang Xue said that my boss still had some humanity left.
  • I didn't say anything.
  • During my recovery, I overheard nurses chatting in the hospital and heard the news that Huo Chengjin and You Jia were getting engaged next week.
  • I thought I wouldn't be heartbroken because of Huo Chengjin.
  • But I had overestimated myself.
  • When I heard the nurses discussing Huo Chengjin and You Jia's wedding.
  • The cup in my hand fell to the ground and shattered.
