Chapter 4 - Familiarity

  • Ace
  • When we arrive at the party a crowd starts gathering round me. My reputation for being the prince of the party never ceased to amaze me. I was call the prince of the party for my good looks, drinking skills and ability to attract the ladies.
  • Tonight, the house was pack with students from our school and the nearby school. Aiden tap on my shoulder and points out a hot chick in a tight red dress.
  • “Someone brought their grandmother with tonight.” His smirk tells me the jerk want to take little red riding hood home with him. She is exactly his type. Brunette with all the right curves.
  • I was not interest in the little red riding hood but the grandma next to her. A sense of familiarity hit me, but I can’t remember when or where I’ve met her. So, I brush it off and turn my attention to the red head that has been sending me signal since we walked through the door.
  • I’m here to have fun, not to stare at some grandma being bored out of their mind. Soon, my attention was diverted to my surrounding. I started dancing to the music as girls came up to me to show off their moves.
  • Eventually little red riding hood came up to me and confessed her undying love for me. But she is not my type, so I kindly reject her. She frowned and left with her head down, disappointed. I feel bad for her, but she is not my type, we’ll leave this one to Aiden.
  • Aiden is quick to take over coax her. This guy knows his way around his word and within a matter of seconds, the girl was laughing and drinking with him. He waves his cup at me and smirks. Yep, he is taking her home tonight.
  • I was in the middle of dancing with some chick. Her back pinned to my chest as she started twerking on me. We heard a yelp and the girl rushed out of the way; grandma fell dramatically in front of me.
  • I caught her just on time and pulled her toward me to prevent her from landing face first on the floor. She landed on my chest her face inches from mine.
  • Her eyes slowly opened slowly, and I was captivated. Those eyes and her scent, they are all so familiar to me. Even her hair is of the same color, a soft blond. Then it clicks, the girl that day. I leaned forward and she backed away slightly, but she didn’t get far.
  • “Have we met before?” I whisper taking in more of her scent in the process. I know cliché catch phrase but, I was genuinely curious.
  • “For the prince of party, that all you got.” I pulled back just in time to see the eye roll. “We hit the 21 century a long time ago.” I smirk. Interesting, girl got attitude.
  • “For someone who dress like a pauper, you sure know how to fall like a princess.” I bite back more amuse than anger.
  • Take her awhile, but when she gets my message, she did a double take before pushing me off. She then took off after someone, whom I assume was the girl she was with.
  • I try seeking her out, but the girl never stays in one place. Eventually I gave up and tried to enjoy the party. Those ash gray eyes keep popping up in my head and the faint lavender scent linger on my nostril, throughout the whole night.
  • I was agitated wondering if she could be the girl that I’ve been trying to find since that day, three years ago. I’d like to know more about her or at least thank her for saving me.
  • Over the years I’ve been searching for her, and I got nothing. I don’t even know her name or seen her full face. All I remember was eye, her scent, and the scar on the back of her head.
  • This girl checks two out of the three, I need to find out if she had scar on her. Eventually the house got hectic, and I completely lost her. I wonder around when the place starts to die down, but she is nowhere to be found.
  • Just when I thought all hope was lost, I saw her on the front porch with her face in her palm, frustrated. Now is the perfect opportunity to see if she had the scar.
  • She jumped and quickly scurried away from me, which I thought was a bit too dramatic. Before I could ask anything though, she started blabbering about her friend. Whom Aiden took home earlier. So, that is why she was all over the place tonight.
  • I told her what I know, and she seems mad. I mean one nightstand are normal for people like us, right? Why is she so mad? She demanded I take her to Aiden, and I obliged.
  • Honestly, I was surprised at myself. Why did I agree so easily? For all know she could have been some serial killer ready to murder me or Aiden. Maybe it’s the sense of familiarity that draws me to her.
  • The girl eagerly rang on Aiden door; I tried to reason with her, but she wouldn’t listen. I mean Aiden is not a bad guy, her friend is perfectly safe. So, there is no reason for her to overreact like this.
  • Aiden opens the door to the relentless ring of his doorbell and scowl. He was tired since it is nearing 2 am in the morning and from the look of it he had a rough night, with her friend.
  • I tried to introduce them, but I realized I did know her name. I asked, but she didn’t answer. Instead, she rushes into the house when Aiden said her friend was with him.
  • She rushes upstairs without a care in the world, after Aiden said her friend was sleeping in his room. She was shocked and angry to find her friend on Aiden bed, naked.
  • An unexpected punch land on Aiden face, shocking the both of us. The commotion was enough to wake the beauty on the bed.
  • Clara, call her Nana, so it safe to assume that her name. Kind of plain but cute if you ask me. We watched as she quickly pulled her friend together and left the house.
  • Nana was furious and accused me of not understanding their situation. I mean everyone want to get involved with Aiden, because he is actually offer relationship status while I don’t. So, why is she so angry that her friend sleep with Aiden. Yeah, guess I don’t understand.
  • I waited until the back light of their car disappeared into the distance before heading inside, meeting Aiden by the door.
  • “What was that about?” Aiden asked as confused as me. I shrugged, sat on the couch, and rested my head on the backrest. “Are you staying tonight.” I nodded with my eyes closed. The image of grandma keeps coming back to me.
  • She got the eyes, scent but I don’t see a scar on the back of her head. That means she might not be her. I sigh, here I through I was finally going to be able to meet her. I want to know what she looks like under that mask.
  • “I thought I had found her Aiden.” I let out sounding defeat. He knew I was looking for a girl, but I’ve never told him the reason why.
  • “Who is it?” Aiden took a seat beside me.
  • “The girl in sweatshirt. What was it… Nana. I thought she was her, but I didn’t see the scar on her head.” I felt defeated. I just wanted to meet her one more time.
  • To ask her why she carried so much sadness? So many pains that day? She saved me but why does she look as broken as me? So many unanswered questions.
  • “It’s ok man, maybe it not the right time.” Aiden tried to console me, but his words fell on deaf ears.
  • Since its late, I decided to stay the night. However, I can’t get Nana out of my head. The whole night her piercing gaze flashed before me, and her scent lingered in my nostril. Reminding me of the girl I met three years ago.
