Chapter 10 Are You Threatening Me

  • Casper raised an eyebrow as he wondered what this woman was up to. He then heard her seething in his ear. “Those shots you got there aren’t quite scintillating enough. What do you say to us completing this collection, hmm?”
  • With that, Eleanor wrapped her arms around his neck and swung herself cross-legged onto his lap. She then struck a series of salacious poses with the both of them in the frame as she deftly snapped away on the phone.
  • Before Casper could react, she had already uploaded the photos and locked down her account.
  • “What’s the meaning of this?” He frowned.
  • The woman on his lap smirked, “Doesn’t Mr. Beaumont like blowing things up? It wouldn’t be much fun if I were the only one to make the headlines.”
  • If this guy dares to send my pictures to the press, I’ll see to it that the both of us would share in the infamy!
  • She waved the phone in her hand. “I won’t necessarily be the one at the losing end in this business. With Mr. Beaumont’s squeaky clean image, especially pertaining to women, I wonder what would people think if these photos were to surface.”
  • “I don’t suppose there might be any possibility of a backlash, say like, the stock value of Beaumont International plummeting, perchance?”
  • Casper’s eyes dimmed briefly before his lips lifted into a roguish smile. Reaching out his hand, he propped the woman by the chin. “I see...”
  • He then clasped his rugged fingers around her jaw as he manhandled her face. The ensuing pressure caused her mouth to pucker.
  • The man curled his lips as he watched the twinge in her expression. “Are you threatening me?”
  • Eleanor snorted when she was forced to meet his gaze. The corner of his lips was raised with sinister intent.
  • “I think you’ve mistaken, Mr. Beaumont! You’re the one who was threatening me! You must know that there’s no point in wasting your time on an absolute nobody like me!”
  • She then put her phone away and attempted to rise as she was determined to leave.
  • The man, however, had sustained his vice-like grip on her.
  • The woman felt a numbness in her spine as her body flared up again. “What do you want!”
  • “I want... to f*ck you!” She felt the iciness of his breath upon her.
  • Though she was taken aback, she had the slightest of suspicions that he might be messing with her. However, there was no way she would be able to establish that.
  • He was in complete control as he admired how hard she was trying to hide her intensifying anxiety. Casper Beaumont possessed the debonair of a seasoned Don Juan.
  • As he leaned himself forward, the woman hopped off his lap and repelled him.
  • “I’m leaving!” She gnashed her teeth when she saw the tattered clothes on the floor. “Kindly compensate me for that, Mr. Beaumont!”
  • The man did not reply but merely glanced his eyes towards the couch. A set of women’s clothing was folded and laid neatly on it.
  • So he was already prepared for this.
  • Still, Eleanor was almost pleasantly surprised at his thoughtfulness.
  • She walked over to pick up the clothes. The way they felt to the touch spoke of its quality. Despite the fact that the tags had been snipped off, she was certain these were from an established label.
  • The woman went on and got changed up in the washroom. When she returned, she scribbled her banking details onto a piece of paper and shoved it out towards him.
  • He looked at her, quite mystified.
  • “Now that we’ve come to this, Mr. Beaumont, I shall be frank with you. You’re right. I still have your photos with me, but if you’re willing to pay me off, I’ll not hand them over to Anais!”
  • Her fingers wrapped around themselves as she sought to steady her own nerves.
  • Everyone knew that the Beaumonts were trouble, and that was even more true of Casper.
