Chapter 4

• Sophia stood still and found Adrian's bodyguard standing at the door. They were not by his side, but here. She didn't think Adrian arranged them to protect her. They were obviously here to prevent her from escaping.
• Sophia turned around and the two bodyguards immediately followed her.
• Arriving at the doctor's office, Sophia pushed the door directly and entered. The two bodyguards stood outside the door in an orderly manner.
• In the absence of the doctor, Sophia toured the whole office and found a box of unsealed mercury thermometers on the desk. She took one of them and quickly hid it in her clothes.
• Before long, Adrian appeared.
• "Go to the blood station now!" Adrian's face was cold.
• "She is not my sister! She is your lover! Why should I even do this?" Sophia re.
• "I have given you the title of ‘Mrs. Thompson'. Isn't it enough for you?"
• Adrian's contemptuous eyes made Sophia's heart bleed. He occupied her body, but his heart was for another woman. She was pregnant with his child, but he said she was carrying a bastard!
• There were footsteps outside the door and many nurses came in.
• "Hold her down!" Adrian ordered the nurses to come forward.
• "Don't come here!" Sophia took out a tube of mercury collected by breaking the thermometer and trued to drink it.
• Drawing blood for Bella? She would rather die!
• "Where did you get so much mercury?"
• The nurses had already seen what it was and did not dare to come forward. Adrian motioned with his hand and the nurses withdrew from the room with discretion.
• "Do you even have the courage to die?"
• In Adrian's eyes, Sophia would only obey him but secretly frame Bella.
• "Don't force me! Even if I die, I won't take out my blood again!" Sophia lifted the tube of mercury near her mouth.
• "If you really have the courage, you are not Sophia! You still don't know what kind of death it is to swallow mercury, do you? Why don't I tell you now!" Adrian narrowed his eyes and was not anxious or dry.
• "This is only a small tube. After you swallow it, you would experience renal failure, and then you would slowly forget everything, forget all pain and all troubles. The brain would be damaged. You could not control your body. What's worse, you would become blind." Adrian said excitedly, which frightened Sophia. She looked nervously at the mercury tube in her hand and leaned back against the wall.
• "In the end, your skin would be peeled off alive. However, you will not die. I will not let you die!"
• Sophia seemed to foresee her death and threw away the mercury tube in horror. "No! No!" She held her head and shouted.
• Adrian looked at Sophia with disdain, as if he had expected such a result. He grabbed Sophia and went out directly to the blood station.
• The nurse in the blood station was whispering about the doctor who has just been transferred here.
• When Sophia entered the room, she found out that the doctor had just been "transferred" here was exactly the one who gave her some hope before.
• "Sir! What should I do?" Sophia had no idea at the moment. She was in a miserable state.
• "Mrs. Thompson...," the doctor looked at Adrian, "it won't hurt very much."
• Adrian did not want to see Sophia's painful face and turned away directly.
• After seeing Adrian leave, Sophia knelt down to the doctor and asked the doctor to help her.
• The doctor quickly picked up Sophia and sighed, "Miss, you must look on the bright side. Perhaps there is still hope!"
• Sophia froze.
• The doctor told Sophia that even if she lost some blood, the fetus would have a chance of survival. However, it all depended on luck. Sophia would require careful recuperation after drawing blood. If she got lucky, the mother and child would be safe. If things didn't go well, it would be difficult for her to get pregnant again after this baby.
