• …An offering?
• She mentioned an offering, an act of paying tribute to the foot of the statues of the deities. She was perfectly aware of what it meant, but in this realm, offering to a deity’s statue is highly sacrificial.
• It is only done when a mortal is desperate and seeks divine intervention. And it’s almost taboo since the ‘offering’ is a soul in exchange for salvation. Or in this case, enlightenment. They cannot very easily hear a response from the deity unless their sacrifice is sufficient.
