"Esteemed Mr. Mercer, I know you're rich and domineering, but I am neither your subordinate nor your maid. I don't have to report everything to you, do I?" Lorraine huffed.
"I am just asking, not demanding a report. Ms. Turner, do you really think I care about those trivial matters between you and the Gregory family? Ridiculous."
Annoyance flared up as arrogance took over, with a hint of pride.
