• I watched that smug b*st*rd stroll toward his new squad, a faint smirk curling his lips as if he'd won some grand prize. He slipped in among the four others who had already pledged their loyalty to Alpha Stefano, wearing their betrayal like a badge of honor. Those who deserved to die now stood alive, while the ones who had stayed loyal met a brutal end, their bodies left lifeless on the field under the bloodthirsty hands of Stefano's soldiers.
• Antonio's warning echoed in my mind, urging me to stay calm. Fury roared inside me, and it was only the Beta's grip on my arm that kept me from launching across the field to claw Enzo's eyes out. My fingers twitched, longing for the familiar weight of my daggers.
